This Hampton Inn location is a fairly typical, mid-range roadside chain property with three floors of generally bland decor. Guest rooms are basic, clean, and comfortable. Staff and service are highly rated for their attentiveness and helpfulness with information about restaurants and historic downtown. Amenities include free Wi-Fi and a standard breakfast, and the hotel is also close to Fernandina Beach. Oyster Hotel Review

Hampton Inn Amelia Island at Fernandina Beach

Scene

Typical chain hotel with generic chain decor that sits on a major road to the beach.

Trees surround the property, giving its exterior and parking lot a pleasant, natural setting. The inn sits on a popular route to the beach, a four-lane road with a dividing turning lane that terminates into a roundabout. Nearby roads are well maintained and house businesses, private residences, and other hotels. Inside, the inn has typical chain decor and a straight singular hallway on each floor. The front area of the lobby hosts both the reception desk and a large breakfast area with dark wood tables and patterned seating in blue. This Hampton Inn is ultimately designed to appeal to a broad range of short-term travelers, including tourists and business travelers. Kudos have been given to staff members for their attentiveness and helpfulness in terms of exploring area haunts.

Location

Short drive to historic district and dining establishments

This Fernandina Beach property is highly convenient to accessing eastern shore sea and sand. Just down Sadler Road, there are several casual food establishments like Dairy Queen and Cedar River Seafood as well as fine-dining options like La Mancha. The historic district is a 10-minute drive north, where visitors will drive pass characteristic buildings and mansions. (Another Hampton Inn location is part of this district and close to the Amelia Island Museum of History.) Once in this area, hungry diners will want to visit Le Clos and España Restaurant & Tapas. Of the activities on Fernandina Beach itself, Fort Clinch and Egan's Creek Greenway, both to the north, offer the most scenic escapes and relaxing activities.

Features

Business center and small pool along with free breakfast and Wi-Fi.

A small, standard business center space is available for company travelers or anyone needing access to e-mail, a printer, and/or mailing services. The pool area is decent with its patio seating and loungers and is certainly a plus for anyone hoping to enjoy a swim without going to the beach, but it’s a tad small for large groups. Free breakfast is included in room rates with a selection that includes fresh fruits, pastries, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, and juices. A self-serve waffle maker is on hand as well. For those in a hurry, the hotel has pre-bagged snack and breakfast options. Free Wi-Fi is available.
