Bottom Line

The Amadi Panorama Hotel is an upper-middle-range hotel with a chic and modern vibe located on Ijburg island, in a newly developed waterside district of Amsterdam. The 67 guest rooms are spacious and get lots of natural light through large floor-to-ceiling windows, and all come with flat-screen TVs, Nespresso coffeemakers, and free minibars. However, past guests have reported dirty carpets and some wear, and on-site features are limited to a breakfast service (for a fee), free Wi-Fi, and free tea and coffee. Travelers may want to also consider the similarly priced NH Amsterdam Zuid, which offers a restaurant, a fitness room, and a sauna, but charges extra for high-speed internet.

Amadi Panorama Hotel

Scene

Chic, ultra-modern hotel with contemporary interiors

The Amadi Panorama Hotel is located on the island of Ijburg, which is part of a group of six man-made islands. This new district of Amsterdam was developed in 2002, and features futuristic and ultra-modern architecture. The hotel occupies the top three floors of an eight-story building with a curved facade that wraps around the street corner. The lower floors are taken up by residential apartments, and the building's entrance and ground floor entry area are shared by the apartments and the hotel. Reception is located on the eighth floor: From the elevator, guests step through glass doors into a light-filled space with simple and stylish decor. Large windows let in plenty of natural light and frame scenic views of the waterscape and city skyline. An ultra-modern, industrial-chic look of parquet floors and exposed ductwork in ceilings, give a stylish backdrop to the reception counters and contemporary furniture in pale wood. Hanging lamps of shiny copper-colored spheres add a little bit of glimmer. This property appeals to travelers looking for an alternative to generic chain hotels, and it's popular with leisure and business travelers alike.
