Amsterdam Teleport Hotel

Amsterdam Teleport Hotel occupies a two-story, gray building that's surrounded by other building's of a similar style. It sits in front of a large car park and an outdoor terrace, brightened up with colorful wooden benches. The interiors look more like a college common room than a hotel, with bright, contemporary decor and quirky furnishings. Purple painted walls are offset with bold tulip print feature walls, while soft green couches add a relaxed, homely feel. The lobby is a great space for solo travelers and groups to socialize, with plenty of entertainment such as arcade games and a TV with computer games. This space transforms into a breakfast area in the mornings, so it can sometimes be busy. The hotel is popular with young travelers and backpackers due to its lively, social atmosphere, though business travelers sometimes stay here. 

For travelers looking to be in the heart of the city, this hotel is not for you. It's located on the outskirts of Amsterdam, a five-minute walk from Slotedijk Railway Station. From there, it takes around 30 minutes to get to popular central areas like Leidselpein and Vondelpark, and about 20 minutes to Dam Square. Anne Frank's House is 30 minutes away by train, while the Heineken Experience is 40 minutes away. It's worth noting that the hotel offers daily bike tours around the city, which is a great way to see the sights. There's also a bus station right outside the hotel, plus ample parking spaces for travelers arriving by car. There's not a lot of activity in the immediate area, apart from a grocery store by the station. For business travelers, the hotel is a convenient 15-minute train ride from the RAI Conference Center. Schiphol International Airport is 20 minutes away by train, or a 15-minute drive. Amsterdam Centraal Station is six minutes by train from the hotel. 

Though they vary in size, and some are tiny, guest rooms at the Amsterdam Teleport Hotel have punchy, modern decor. White painted walls are brightened up with colorful cityscape prints, and some have vibrant, graffiti-art murals. Floors are carpeted, and furniture is kept minimal, with light wood closets and small seating areas. Rooms come in Single, Twin, and Quadruple categories, and most have en-suite bathrooms, while others have external private bathrooms. All rooms come with modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, safes, free Wi-Fi, plus basic kitchenettes featuring microwaves, sinks, mini-fridges, and tea/coffee facilities. Unfortunately, air-conditioning is lacking in all rooms. Free bottled water is a thoughtful touch. Bathrooms are plain and simple, with white tiled walls, curtained showers, hairdryers, and free basic toiletries. Windows offer no real views, with most facing the large parking lot outside. Due to its location, rooms are quiet throughout the day night. 

The Amsterdam Teleport Hotel offers numerous facilities that cater to young travelers, giving it an almost hostel-like vibe. A generous breakfast buffet is served daily for a fee, consisting of cereals, fruits, cheese, cold cuts, pastries, tea, coffee, and omelettes made to order. There are several vending machines in the lobby, and a popular 24-hour homemade pizza counter. The hotel has a game room with couches and a billiards table, plus arcade games and computer games can be found in the lobby. There's also a small 24-hour fitness center with modern cardio equipment and free weights. Bike rentals are available, with free daily bike tours around the city. The hotel has an outdoor terrace and a large parking lot, though the latter costs extra. Guests can also bring their dogs to the hotel for a fee. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
