Fairfield Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort

Opened in 1988, the Fairfield is a large hotel that caters to Disneyland-going families. A Mickey Mouse doll sits atop a Disney tickets kiosk in the lobby, and there's even a play check-in kiosk for kids close to the real registration desk. Despite the hotel’s size and steady influx of guests, the lobby remains relatively quiet and peaceful, though the pool gets a bit more action, particularly in the late afternoon after guests return from Disneyland. 

The Fairfield Inn is conveniently located directly across the street from the main entrance to the Disneyland Resort, about a seven-minute walk to the entrance of Disneyland Park. It’s a five-minute drive or 17 minutes by bus to the Anaheim Convention Center. There are plenty of other hotels and fast food places in the immediate area, including a McDonald’s and a Panera next door. It's a five-minute drive to the nearest I-5 on-ramp, and Downtown Disney District is 10 minutes away by car or 21 minutes by bus. Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Honda Center, and the Outlets at Orange are approximately 10 to 12 minutes away by car. Sunset Beach, Newport Beach, and Knott’s Berry Farm are 20 to 30 minutes away, depending on traffic. John Wayne Airport is around 20 minutes away without traffic, while LAX takes more like 45 minutes. 

Guest rooms are accessed from an exterior corridor and are basic, but clean and well maintained. Most run around 228 square feet, with two queen beds or one king-sized bed plus a sofa bed. Decor is generic and simple with basic, solid-colored sofas, bed-runners, and accent cushions. Bathrooms are smallish, with shower/tub combos. Vanity sinks with broad countertops are located in the rooms, just outside the bathrooms. Standard amenities include 37-inch flat screen TVs, coffeemakers, and mini-fridges. Connecting rooms are available -- in fact, most of the rooms are configured to connect to adjacent rooms. Some have views of the Disney fireworks.

Features at the Fairfield are geared toward families and include a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool surrounded by lounge chairs and open year round. There's also a large game room with several arcade games.

The on-site cafe and a Pizza Hut Express serves breakfast and dinner, with Seattle’s Best coffee and grab-and-go items. Microwaves and toasters are in the cafe area for guests to use. There's no room service, but the Panera Bread adjacent to the hotel also offers delivery. Guests can also buy snacks and beverages -- including alcohol -- at the 24/7 marketplace in the lobby, and there are vending machines on every floor. Other facilities include coin-operated guest laundry, an ATM, a meeting room, and a business center with two computers and a printer. Valet and self-parking are available for a reasonable fee, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
