The 105-room Ramada Plaza Anaheim is a mid-range property with a magnificent fountain that’s less than a 15-minute walk to Disneyland attractions, restaurants, the Anaheim GardenWalk, and the Anaheim Convention Center. Traditional-style rooms come with microwaves, coffeemakers, mini-fridges, and granite countertops. While the decor is typical chain hotel, the vibe is personal -- with a manager who knew every guest's name when we visited. The outdoor pool and hot tub have plenty of greenery, and there's a popular Indian restaurant on-site, along with a small fitness center with a handful of cardio machines and a sauna, and a business center. Wi-Fi and underground garage parking are free, although there's a fee to use the local-area shuttle.

A beautiful large stone fountain resides at the entrance of the Ramada Plaza Anaheim, while the lobby has bright lighting and soft, comfortable seating. An upbeat, homey vibe emanates throughout the hotel. Free newspapers and coffee and tea are available all day. Gold and red drapes, red patterned carpet, and wood chairs and tables adorn the popular Gandhi Palace Restaurant, whose ceiling is painted to look like the sky. The black granite bar has purple-toned lighting, but the tube-style TV hanging from the wall gives it a down-home casual feel. Given its proximity to Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center, the hotel draws families and business travelers.

Disneyland, Disney California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney, restaurants, and convenience stores are within a 15-minute walk, while the American Sports Center, Grove of Anaheim, and Angel Stadium are within a five-minute drive. The Honda Center is a 10-minute drive, while John Wayne Airport can be reached in about 25 minutes.
