This family-friendly, apartment-style property is a mix of outdated rooms and more contemporary public spaces. Its clay-colored exterior doesn't leave one expecting the modern lobby -- outfitted in gray marble with a round beige-leather couch in the center of the room beneath an avant-garde hanging light fixture. Small lounge vignettes are set up to the side of the lobby with faux-leather, streamlined furniture in beige, black, and grey tones to match the rest of the space. An adjacent lobby bar has an entertainment stage surrounded by dining tables and opens up to the patio for alfresco dining and lounging. Many guests take part in the nightly entertainment, though some is more geared toward children than adults. Another popular spot is the clay-colored pool deck that matches the building's facade, topped with bright-yellow loungers and straw palapas for a pleasant and cheerful effect. The variety of kid-friendly features mean guests tend to be vacationing families.

Aside from offering guests plenty to do on-site, there's nearly as much to do just beyond the hotel's doors, too. The beach, Playa del Castillo, is a quick six-minute walk from the hotel. On the way to the beach is Sohail Castle, a popular tourist spot and just a four-minute walk away. Also notable are Tu Casa Skate Park and the Miramar Shopping Centre, both four minutes away by foot. The complex has ample restaurants and shops. The popular Fuengirola Street Market is also walking distance from the hotel, just 12 minutes away. Malaga Airport is 20 minutes away by car.

Each of Fuengirola Beach Aparthotel's spacious rooms have a separate living and sleeping area, as well as kitchenettes. Rooms are well-maintained, but they could definitely use some updating as far as decor is concerned. Depending on the room, there is either striped or plaid upholstery at every turn -- the bedding, couches, and banquette cushion all matching. Small details, such as archways and framed art add character to the mostly bland spaces. The rooms are also well-equipped with modern amenities such as air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges with no freezers, and microwaves. Cookware and dishes are provided, but there are no ovens.

Guests can get out to their furnished balcony or terrace from the bedroom or living room area. Not all have a pool or water view, but they're on the larger side and some are massive, especially for a mid-range hotel of this size. Straightforward bathrooms in beige tones have shower/tub combos, hairdryers, free bath products, and bidets. In-room safes and Wi-Fi require a fee.

Amenities abound at Fuengirola Beach Aparthotel -- from fun to fitness, there's no shortage of things to do on the property. The large main pool is the centerpiece, plus there are a separate kiddy pool, game room with billiards and arcade games, two different playgrounds for children, and a kids' club. The fitness center is well-equipped with various cardio machines, free weights, and a weight bench. For those looking to get their gym-time in outdoors, there are a well-maintained tennis court and basketball hoop. 

Business travelers will appreciate the on-site meeting room and free Wi-Fi in the lobby. Laundry facilities are also available, as well as a room for travelers to use after check-out that includes basic bathroom amenities, a walk-in shower, and hairdryer (keep in mind that this room does have to be booked in advance if you intend to use it).
