Bottom Line

The 415-room Natali Torremolinos Hotel is a run-of-the-mill budget vacation spot in the center of Torremolinos. It's a fine pick for those on a tight budget who don’t plan to hang out in the basic, outdated rooms or at the crowded pool. The location in the city center is reasonably convenient for exploring the town -- plus, both the bus and train stations are nearby -- but it's a bit of a trek from the beach (around 15 minutes by foot). Breakfast is included, but meals feel like a cattle market, and elevators are slow. For a similarly priced beachfront alternative, consider Hotel Isabel.

Oyster Hotel Review

Natali Torremolinos

Scene

There's nothing fancy about this beach vacation madhouse.

This is a crowded vacation spot, full of families and tourists, many of them Spanish, eager to get their beach vacation on. The 11-floor building is boxy and utilitarian. It’s nothing much to look out outside or inside, where a sparse, outdated, tiled lobby welcomes partiers and soon-to-be beach bums.

The restaurant and bar fall squarely into “ugly” territory, but everything is clean. The prices are low, and the location is central, so this is a decent pick for budget beachgoers who want a decent place to sleep and not much more.

There is a pool outside, but be prepared to fight for space to swim and lounge with pushy guests. You’ll also need to jockey for space at the restaurant and bar. The party goes on late, and the hotel gets and stays loud.

Location

Right in the heart of town, and not too far from the beautiful beaches

Hotel Nataili sits on a wide, busy road right in the center of Torremolinos. Guests are close by busy shops and restaurants. It’s a public transport dream: right near the Torremolinas train station and bus station. The walk to the beach takes about 15 minutes, or guests can hop on a bus. If you’re driving, parking can be a challenge — there is no lot and guests are on own their own to find a spot.

Rooms

Rooms are bare-bones and unpleasant, but clean.

The small, outdated rooms veer on the side of depressing, save for the balconies. The televisions are antique and tiny, the furniture is unattractive, and the beds are uncomfortable. Select a room on a higher floor to avoid noise, although be prepared to wait a long time for the slow elevators, or take the stairs. Ask for a room with a view of the ocean, which are much more pleasant than some rooms which overlook a traffic road. The rooms are clean, and supplied with fresh towels and toiletries.

Features

A busy pool, a thronged buffet, and no Wi-Fi

Hotel Natali has an outdoor pool, usually teeming with Spanish tourists, a bare-bones fitness center, and a rooftop terrace. A restaurant serves three meals a day, including free breakfast, but pushy guests scramble to smuggle food out of the dining room and save tables marked “no reservations,” making for an abrasive expereicne. Wi-Fi is not available, and the hotel charges a fee for wired internet access. There’s an outdated conference center, a playroom for kids, and a lonely pool table.
