Precise Resort El Rompido – The Hotel

The Precise Resort El Rompido is a modern, contemporary hotel surrounded by the Marismas del Rio Piedras national wetland preserve. The grounds are lush and beautifully landscaped, with lots of open space for wandering. The lobby is super stylish, furnished with elegant high-backed sofas, and decorated with gorgeous woods, rock gardens, sculptures, candlelight, and orchids. The high ceilings give the space an elite game lodge feel; walls of windows flood the area with natural light.

The Son Saura Lounge Bar is chicly done in white, elegant grays, and exotic woods. There is often live music here in the evenings. La Galea is a more Zen-like bar option, where guests can hang and look out onto the wetlands. The poolside bar, El Faro, serves lunch and light bites all day, between dips in the water. The buffet restaurant, Binidalí, with its crisp white tablecloths, full place settings, including fine wine glasses, and elegant decor, belies the reputation of buffet dining. At the end of a long day of sunning, golfing, and other sports, there is ample opportunity to sip an exotic cocktail or local wine in an elegant setting.

One hour from both the Faro and Seville airports, the Precise Resort El Rompido is located near a picturesque fishing village, and the resort runs a free tourist train back and forth to the village all day long. A free boat ferries guests across the Rio Piedros to a gorgeous, unpopulated beach exclusively for the hotel's guests. There is no shopping or dining in the immediate vicinity of the resort, which is set beside a wetlands preserve, but a short drive takes guests to a waterpark and go-kart track.

Rooms at the Precise Resort El Rompido are spotlessly clean and nicely designed with a peaceful vibe, nothing harsh or overbright. Walls are striped, and there are padded leather headboards. Bathrooms are roomy and bright. The patio tables and chairs are not cheap plastic but are made of pretty dark wood. Rooms have flatscreen TVs with satellite channels, safes, and minibars. Suites have a double-size whirlpool and an enormous rooftop terrace with sunbeds.

The Precise Resort El Rompido has a spectacular swimming pool with its own island, accessible by a pair of little footbridges. The full-service spa offers a menu of high-end treatments, as well as a sauna, whirlpool, steam, and an indoor pool. In season, there are lots of planned activities for kids of all ages, including teenagers. Sports include tennis and paddle tennis, soccer, horseback riding, mountain biking, racquetball, squash, hiking, a fitness center, and many incarnations of golf. The restaurant buffet serves seasonal Andalusian specialties, but there are a la carte, al fresco, snack and cocktail options aplenty.
