Hotel Yaramar

The Yaramar stands out among neighboring properties for its height and bright-blue exterior and balcony partitions. Inside, the hotel is a mix of contemporary and dated furnishings with no coherent design scheme. While the lobby has sleek marble floors with contrasting black lattice-like features and a striking green light fixture that resembles a skyscraper turned upside down, it also has wicker couches topped with patterned cushions and generic still life paintings. Tube-like elevators have chrome detailing and windows that allow guests to overlook the interior hotel. The restaurants and bars have everything from pub-style decor to wood-beam ceilings with hanging flower pots. Some spaces are more attractive than others, but all are well-maintained and clean. The property is geared primarily toward older couples. 

Yaramar Hotel is located along the promenade in Los Boliches, across the street from a pretty stretch of sandy beach. Previous guests have noted that this area is mostly relaxed, yet still offers plenty to do. Guests will find plenty of bar and restaurant options within easy walking distance. Entertainment options within driving distance are the Fuengirola Street Market (12-minute drive), Sohail Castle (10 minutes), and Costa Water Park (13 minutes).

The blue-and-white themed rooms are a bit dated but comfortable. The wood furniture and beige tile are old-fashioned, as are the blue-cushioned chairs and stools, but the blue-striped curtains and patterned bedspread feel more contemporary. The more noteworthy detail is that all rooms have furnished balconies with views of the sea -- some better than others. All rooms have desks and small tables, as well as air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and safes. Mini-fridges in Standard Rooms require a fee.

Bathrooms feel a bit hodgepodge due to the three different tile types on the floor, walls, and vanity. Still, they are comfortably sized, clean, and come equipped with shower/tub combos, bidets, hairdryers, and a generous amount of free bath products. Lower-level rooms have been said to pick up noise, so it may be worth requesting one on a higher floor.  

Yaramar Hotel offers a solid amount of features for guests. Yaramar has a spacious pool deck with a large pool and separate whirlpool surrounded by ample white plastic loungers and umbrellas. The area also has lovely views of the ocean. A long stretch of sandy beach is just across the road, but note that guests will have to pay for loungers there. Back at the hotel, there are two different game rooms -- one with darts and billiards and ping-pong tables, and the other for card games. There's no full spa, but there are a spacious and well-equipped fitness center, a sauna, and an indoor whirlpool. There are also a salon, meeting space, and car-rental services available. 

Multiple dining options include an Italian a la carte, beachfront eatery, and buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Food across the board receives positive reviews. There are also multiple bars, including the Aquarium Discotheque which has nighttime entertainment. Activities and entertainment, which range from bingo to dance classes, receive mixed reviews.
