Tradewinds Beach Resort

Couples and families make up most of the guests at this conveniently located hotel, which is essentially a line of cottages on opposite sides of a driveway that stretches from a beach to a bay. The property is made up of pastel yellow, pink, and blue cottages. The lobby is located in a small yellow building and has interior blue walls, and hanging decorative pieces of ocean animals and fish. Between each unit are lovely green gardens with tropical plants, stone tables and benches with blue and red mosaics, charcoal grills, and white awnings, all of which seeks to encourage relaxation during a beach vacation. 

Tradewinds Beach Resort has an ideal location in Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island. Guests can access a private beach from one side of the resort, while on the other side is a bay that’s ideal for fishing from the resort’s private dock. The closest restaurant is a one-minute walk away and others can be reached within a five- to 10-minute walk. There's also a trolley stop a minute from the hotel that takes travelers across the island. For shopping, entertainment, and dining options, travelers can walk 13 minutes south toward Bridge Street. Cortez Market -- the local supermarket -- takes three minutes by car to reach. Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport is a 27-minute drive away.  

The hotel offers one- and two-bedroom apartment-style cottages with beachy, tropical-themed, arguably dated interiors. Decor features include beach art on walls, tropical bedding, tiled floors, white woven tables or dressers, and kitschy black couches with sea horse, seashell, and coral patterns. Units have bedrooms separated from the living rooms and kitchens. Full-size kitchens have large refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, coffeemakers, sinks, and dishes, though some guests have noted that kitchens lack salt, pepper, and other basic condiments. Units also include flat-screen TVs, dining room tables with four chairs, and outdoor patios with plastic chairs and small tables. A few cottages have ocean views. Bathrooms have yellow walls, shower/tub combos, and illuminated mirror cabinets.

Tradewinds Beach Resort has a variety of family-friendly amenities, including an outdoor heated pool that’s surrounded by lounge chairs and stone tables with benches and umbrellas. Beach accessories such as towels, chairs, and umbrellas are available to borrow. The private fishing dock that extends to the bay can accommodate boats in rentable slips. There’s a free laundry room for guests to use and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Guests can make use of a computer in the lobby free of charge. There's also a small gift shop in the lobby that sells children’s toys, snacks, drinks, and even wine.
