Hotel Parc Victoria

Hotel Parc Victoria appeals to couples and families, and gets lots of weekend vacationers. It's housed in what was originally a private residence built at the end of the 19th century, with a facade that resembles a Victorian dollhouse. The hotel opened in 1991 and joined the Relais & Chateaux group in 1996. With lovely green grounds that abound with flowers, potted plants, pathways, and furnished patios, it’s a peaceful place to stay, while the intimate, Art Deco interior creates a refined and romantic vibe. Several parlors are filled with antique furnishings, Victorian-style artwork, printed rugs, and displays of collectibles such as owl and cat figurines and vases. The effect is elegant, but some guests may find the old-fashioned decor a bit stodgy. Breakfast is served in a charming room with a glass atrium and tan tablecloth-covered tables with floral-printed china. The restaurant has garden-themed decor, with ivy-patterned textiles and views of the gardens.

This hotel is situated on a lovely green property in Saint-Jean-de-Luz in France, a 20-minute drive from the border with Spain and a six-minute walk to the beach. There’s not much to do on the surrounding streets, but dining options, cafes, bars, and shopping can be found within a 10-minute walk of the hotel. Casino JOA is an 11-minute walk from the property, while La Maison of Louis XIV takes 18 minutes on foot to reach. It’s an 18-minute drive to the Biarritz - Anglet - Bayonne Airport.

Hotel Parc Victoria features a range of rooms spread between the main building and private garden cottages. All feature a mixture of classic and Art Deco decor, with antique furnishings on parquet floors. Typical decorative touches include brass lamps, vanities with trifold mirrors, gold-and-cream-colored quilts, and Oriental rugs. Some rooms have separate living rooms with sofa beds. In others, two twin beds are pushed together to make a king. Most rooms have great views of the gardens and some are equipped with private furnished terraces. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and minibars, but no coffee- and tea-making facilities. Elegantly designed marble bathrooms provide hairdryers, walk-in showers or shower/tub combos, and Chopard-brand toiletries.

Hotel Parc Victoria has plenty of lovely features, including an outdoor heated pool surrounded by a deck with lounge chairs. The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating and has a classy, romantic vibe, and pricey, but generally well-reviewed meals. A breakfast buffet is available in the morning (for a fee) and can be taken on one of a few different outdoor patio areas. Room service is also available. There's no fitness center or spa, but massages and beauty treatments can be booked upon request. There’s also a single meeting room for rent with audiovisual equipment as well as a small outdoor terrace. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, and there’s on-site parking for a fee. Family-friendly features include game room foosball, pool, and chess, and there's even a playroom for infants and young children.
