Not only is the international menu outstanding, but the restaurant's location high above the streets allows for striking city views. For a quiet, intimate drink, head to the adjacent bar which offers a wide array of tasty cocktails and live entertainment.

Where: Cantina da Estrela at Hotel da Estrela
The Hotel da Estrela has quirky, schoolroom-inspired decor that continues into the casual restaurant, which has partnered with a local cooking school to offer a unique dining experience. Patrons rate the food made by student cooks and pay what they feel is a fair price. The menu includes traditional Portuguese items such as cod and baby lamb, as well as pastas, carpaccios, meat dishes, and delicious desserts.

The Four Seasons knows some kids are particularly difficult to please when it comes to food, so it has created a special menu for its youngest patrons. Where: Olivier Avenida Restaurant at Tivoli Jardim
The Tivoli Jardim is home to two outstanding restaurants, one Japanese and the other mainly Mediterranean -- both favorites among locals.
