If fun in the sun is the goal of your next family vacation, pack your bags, grab the kids, and head to gorgeous San Juan, Puerto Rico. These five family-friendly resorts each offer something special for kids, from discounted rates to free breakfasts -- and even Spanish lessons. Que bueno!

San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

If you’re searching for beachfront fun, this family-friendly resort is a solid option. It sits directly on beautiful Condado Beach and has a pool
with a slide, a swim-up bar, and a shallow area where smaller kids can play. Families
can rent the resort’s bicycles for free for two hours ($7.50 per hour after
that), and the activities desk can help you plan things like ziplining,
kayaking, or horseback riding.

El Conquistador Resort, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

Located in Fajardo, this resort has pretty much everything a kid could hope for: an awesome waterpark
with a lazy river and power slide, a great beach on a private island, and
plenty of options for activities. There’s
also fun to be had for parents; the resort has a golf course and shops on-site.

Caribe Hilton San Juan

Just a stone’s throw away from San Juan’s old town, the
Caribe Hilton has some great benefits for families. Kids under 18 stay for
free, and children under five eat at the hotel for free as well. Kids ages five to 12 get free
breakfast and half off other meals at the resort, and the kid’s center has games and play equipment for rent.

The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan

For kids who like to do more than lounge by the pool, the Ritz Kids program
offers a range of activities from beach bowling to soccer and interactive Spanish lessons. Ritz Kids costs $85 for a full
day, $55 for a half day, and activities vary daily. The resort does a
great job of catering to families, and offers a nanny service and special menus
for smaller kids as well.

The Condado Plaza Hilton

The Condado Plaza Hilton is another stellar option for
families. Kids under 17 stay for free, and the hotel offers daily activities
like fish feeding, popsicle giveaways, kayaking demos, and Nintendo Wii
tournaments.
