Hotelier Alleges He Paid Off Hillary Clinton

Sant Chatwal, the hotelier behind properties such as the Dream Downtown, Night Hotel New York, and The Chatwal, is no stranger to controversy; the Indian millionaire, who resides in New York City, was sentenced to three years probation for campaign finance violations last year. And his name has yet again been brought up amid political scandals, most recently in connection with accusations that presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton was convinced by donors to reverse her stance on a 2008 nuclear deal between the U.S. and India. Chatwal was responsible for arranging a very lucrative speaking arrangement for Bill Clinton, and he later alleged, "Even my close friend Hillary Clinton was not in favor of the [nuclear] deal...but when I put the whole package together, she also came on board." "In politics, nothing comes free," Chatwal said. "You have to write cheques in the American political system."
