We're having a cuteness attack! We've been adding so many hotels to the site this summer and fortunately for us (and you), many of them have been super precious. So without further adieu, here are the seven most adorable cottage hotels in the U.S. The photos speak for themselves...
The Carneros Inn, Napa Valley
The luxury Carneros Inn is geared toward high-budget travelers -- it's pricey -- but guests who can afford it will find a sort of homey elegance here. Hillside Adirondack chairs overlook the vineyard. Crackling fireplaces warm every room. Private gardens and tree-lined infinity pools invite guests to relax. The entire resort feels like it's set on a farm, with cottages strewn about that house some of the guest rooms. The rooms are very comfy, with private decks and stone patios surrounded by overgrown greens and a fire pit. They also have outdoor tubs and showers, which is a cool feature.

Menemsha Inn, Martha's Vineyard
The Menemsha Inn is a secluded and rustic option in the scenic up-island area of Martha's Vineyard. A variety of rooms and cottages can suit different size groups, and all rooms have charming features like wood-burning fireplaces and screen porches. Freebies here include daily breakfast, (spotty) Wi-Fi, parking, and all the beach necessities such as towels, chairs, and umbrellas. The inn is privately situated on 14 acres of gardens and fields overlooking the Menemsha Harbor, but is still close to nearby Lucy Vincent Beach.
The Beach Club, Alabama
Tucked away from rowdy college kids, this family-friendly gated condo community sits on 86 acres near a large, private, white sandy beach. The property feels safe and secure, and has four high-rise towers on the beach as well as cottages along a man-made lake. Units have one to five bedrooms with fully equipped kitchens and living rooms. Since the condos are individually owned, the decor can range from worn-out and dated to beachy chic. Beach chair rental can be arranged ahead of time, eliminating the 5 a.m. run to stake out seats.

Eden Village Motel and Cottages, Maine
Eden Village Motel and Cottages comprises 11 small and simple cottages and a 10-room motel on a large expanse of partially wooded land. Rooms are simply furnished, and include TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, and Keurig coffeemakers. Self-contained cottages have either one or two bedrooms and include kitchenettes, living rooms, porches, and outdoor grills, and some have fireplaces. The picturesque grounds have a private pond with ducks and geese where guests can fish and use free pedal-boats, and there's a playground and a walking trail. However, there are no on-site dining options and the property is not on Bar Harbor's free shuttle bus route, so a car is crucial.
Audubon Cottages, New Orleans
With a gorgeous Tuscan-style courtyard complete with a heated saltwater pool; seven exclusive one- and two-bedroom cottages; top-notch services; and a central location in the French Quarter, the Audubon Cottages is a great pick for travelers looking to splurge. Just note that there are no amenities aside from the pool and parking is available only at the hotel’s sister property a block away.

Hidden Pond, Maine
Spread over 60 acres, Hidden Pond resort features 36 suite-like bungalows and two-bedroom cottages. While each has it's own personality, they are all bright, homey, and sophisticated, characterized by pops of color and lodge-like touches (such as stone fireplaces adorned with antlers, and a lamp made from a tree branch). The spa is set up to resemble a tree house, and free yoga classes are held at the organic farm (where guests may also pick fresh flowers and veggies). Another outstanding feature is the outdoor bar and grill that sits on a "sand bar," with chairs circled around fire pits. This upscale boutique hotel attracts couples with its tranquil environment and top-notch restaurants, as well as families with its cottages that include full kitchens and washer/dryers.
Cottage Grove Inn, Napa Valley
Cottage Grove Inn is a mid-range property tucked away on a leafy lot along Calistoga's main street, a few blocks from the center of town. Each of the 17 individual cottages has a quaint porch with rocking chairs and a studio-like interior with skylights and a wood-burning fireplace. Unlike many area hotels there are no mineral springs here -- or even a spa -- but in-room massages are available. Breakfast with waffles and evening wine are included in the rates. Across the street, the much larger Indian Springs Resort and Spa also has private cottages, as well as multiple pools fed by the area's hot springs.
