When you want a domestic vacation that includes a lot of gambling, deciding where to go isn’t an easy feat. And while we’re well aware that Las Vegas is the undisputed king of casino resorts, our collection includes locations from the east to west coast.
Foxwoods Resort and Casino, Connecticut
The casino industry is one of Connecticut’s largest employers, which is no surprise given that it’s home to places like Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket. With The Fox Tower hotel attached, the Foxwoods Resort and Casino is a sprawling entertainment complex that appeals to both locals and vacationing visitors. It boasts six casinos, which means there are plenty of options as to where you drop — and hopefully win — your money. Guests also have access to Foxwoods’ two golf courses, two-story arcade, restaurants, spas, and the attached Tanger Outlet Mall. Talking Stick Resort, Arizona
Located on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Reservation, just east of Scottsdale, Talking Stick Resort is the type of place you can check into and not leave until your vacation’s done. Aside from the live shows, great golfing options, pools, and spa, the casino tempts with plenty of slots and traditional table games, plus a cocktail lounge, which is ideal for interrupting those losing streaks. Above the upmarket casino, the elegant Orange Sky restaurant offers fine dining and great views of the mountainous horizon.
Bellagio, Las Vegas
Everyone has their own favorite Vegas casino and specific criteria on which they choose it. That being said, selecting just one casino from the most famous gambling city in the world is, well, tough. We’ve opted for the Bellagio because in addition to being one of the biggest casinos (156,000-square-feet) and having thousands of slot machines (2,499) and hundreds of gaming tables (207), the Italian villa-themed resort also has those magical dancing fountains. From the sophisticated rooms with high-tech amenities to the jaw-dropping splendor of the botanical gardens, the Bellagio is the embodiment of Vegas luxury.
Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, Reno
Like a resort lifted out of Tuscany and passed through an American strip mall, the Italian-themed Peppermill is situated a short distance from the hustle and bustle of downtown Reno. The property offers an authentic, upmarket casino resort experience, with slot machines, gaming tables, card tables, and keno, as well as a race and sports book. Plus, the spacious rooms, attractive outdoor pool area, and variety of restaurants, lounges, and striking architecture only make the Peppermill even more of a crowd pleaser.
