Video: What It’s Like to Go Dog Sledding in Alaska

Brimming with mind-blowingly beautiful places (the magical Mendenhall Glacier and Denali National Park come to mind first), Alaska unsurprisingly figures on many a traveler’s bucket list. Though it’s largely uninhabited, the last frontier is packed with adventurous activities -- many of which can’t be replicated elsewhere in the world (or captured in a photograph). Some come to spot wildlife, such as bears, wolves, moose, and caribou, and others make the journey to explore ice caves, bravely standing under a bubbling (yet breathtaking) ceiling of ice. Another activity that can’t be missed on any trip to the 49th state is dog sledding.

In particular, Alaska Sled Dogs & Musher’s Camp in Skagway offers exhilarating sled rides pulled by powerful Alaskan huskies. Passengers are whisked down a zig-zagging trail in the forest, and can even learn about the adventurous sport from mushers. Dog-lovers can also cuddle up with the adorable puppies. Best of all, this family-friendly activity is great for all ages. So, are you ready to go for a ride?
