The Los Angeles rooftop party trend has finally hit Miami. In fact, several of South Florida’s newest high-rises flaunt rooftop bars and wild nights, perfect for creating that “I’m in Miami, b*tch” feeling! Other smaller hotels have followed the trend with bespoke rooftop themes and stylish designs.

Club 50 (485 Brickell Avenue, Downtown): The bar/club of Downtown Miami’s Viceroy hotel takes the Miami throw-down to new heights — literally. Located on the 50th floor of the hotel, Club 50 reveals stunning views of the city and Biscayne Bay, showcasing a visually inspiring mix of bright lights and waterways. Sipping classy cocktails in either the Kelly-Wearstler-designed indoor lounge or the poolside outdoor lounge is an essential experience for both locals and visitors.

Rooftop at the Townhouse Hotel (150 20th Street, South Beach): Every now and then, the Townhouse hotel invites South Beach to share an evening on its renowned rooftop, equipped with almost a dozen red waterbeds and oversized white umbrellas. The party under the stars over the famed series of beds is what South Beach is all about — the boys, the girls, the style, the weather, the easy access to a bed, and lots of drinks. Dates change monthly so it’s best to check the Townhouse’s website. And of course if you are staying at the hotel, you can hang out on the waterbeds as much as you’d like.

Plunge (2377 Collins Avenue, South Beach): The rooftop pool bar at the Gansevoort South made a huge splash when it opened in early 2008 and continues to shine as the main selling point of the gargantuan hotel. Towering 18 stories over the Atlantic Ocean, the pool area remains packed at all hours on a sunny afternoon and it transforms into a party palace during the late night hours.
