Cue today, January 4. It’s our first day back in the office after a long New Year’s weekend, a four-day bender of a) too much eating, b) too much drinking, and c) too much of both. Oh, and that’s not counting Christmas and Hanukkah – all that eggnog, those cute little sugar cookies, four bags of Hanukkah gelt. In one sitting. We’re feeling a little flabby and soft, and those jeans? Yeah, that’s not the dryer’s fault. We’ve done some research and tallied the votes – here are five top-notch hotel gyms around the country that’ll inspire you to get your sweat on in the New Year.

Hotel: Canyon Ranch Miami Beach
Location: Northern Beaches, Miami
Price: $573
The 70,000-square-foot fitness center here is impressive. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer ocean views from dozens of cardio machines. There’s also a rock-climbing wall. Every day, some 40 free fitness classes are offered throughout the property, from Sunrise Yoga to Beach Conditioning.

Hotel: Four Seasons Washington D.C.
Location: Georgetown and Foggy Bottom, Washington, D.C.
Price: $545
The tri-level spa and fitness center is one of the best in the city. One floor is devoted to cardio, with over a dozen Precor and Life Fitness machines with individual TVs, a second to strength training equipment, and a third to a two-lane saltwater lap pool and Jacuzzi. In addition to the traditional fitness areas, there’s also a tranquil room set aside for yoga and aerobics.

Hotel: SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills
Location: Beverly Hills/Bel Air, Los Angeles
Price: $437
This incredibly well-equipped 2,500-square-foot, 24-hour fitness center has equipment from leading Italian fitness manufacturer, Technogym, an official supplier to Torino and Beijing Olympic games. Cardio equipment includes four treadmills, five ellipticals, two upright bikes, and one reclining bike — all with personal TV monitors — and an enormous assortment of weight machines, weights, and balls.

Hotel: Encore at Wynn Las Vegas
Location: The Strip, Las Vegas
Price: $259
The state-of-the-art fitness center here is superb, and includes top-notch weight training machines and TV monitors on each piece of cardio equipment, but it costs an extra $30 to access it.

Hotel: The Peninsula New York
Location: Midtown East, New York City
Price:
$723
This superb gym, one of the best in New York City, offers new Life Fitness cardio and strength-training equipment, beautiful views of the New York City skyline, and free water, apples, headphones (for the private TV monitors on each of the cardio machines), magazines, organic teas and coffee, and workout clothes (even shoes). Personal trainers and free fitness classes daily — yoga, aqua-aerobics, and boot-camp-style cardio, among others — are part of the deal. A warm, glass-enclosed pool sits on the 22nd floor.
