We just made a trip to Rhodes, one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. Known for its lovely beaches and stunning medieval architecture, Rhodes also has some pretty magnificent weather -- so we extended our stay, and visited nearly 60 properties! Each hotel we saw had its perks, but these nine had, by far, the most gorgeous pools. Dive right in!
Lindos Blu
The 70-room boutique Lindos Blu is a luxury, adult-only hotel built into a steep hillside outside historic Lindos, with spectacular panoramic views of the Aegean. Though the rectangular outdoor pool isn’t very large, it has a gorgeous vista of the water and runs to the cliffside edge of the hotel. The heated indoor pool at the spa has a similar lovely view of the ocean, and some guest rooms have private pools so guests can take their pick.
Lindian Village
The 146-room Lindian Village is a quiet, romantic, luxury getaway geared toward couples. The chic pool area offers turquoise canopy beds, sleek wooden tables, an outdoor rock shower, a waterfall, and a bridge. The pool is beautifully tiled with shades of blue rectangular tiles woven together and the sea is in the near distance. Romantic dinners can be arranged under the stylish dome terrace with circular bench sofas.
Amathus Elite Suites
Don’t want to share a pool with other guests? Book one of the rooms at the Amathus Elite Suites that features a small private pool, with stunning views of the ocean and a couple of cushioned lounge chairs to boot. The luxury property is located on the Aegean Seafront on Rhodes Island and delivers lavishness and privacy with manicured gardens, beach access, an exclusive restaurant with sea views, and an elegant spa with a freshwater pool.
Rodos Palace
A 10-minute drive from the historic city of Rhodes, the towering, 785-room Rodos Palace is an upscale, all-inclusive resort up the street from the beach that has every amenity you could think of for a never-leave-your-hotel vacation. In addition to some suites with private pools, there are outdoor and indoor pools, as well as hot tubs on the property. The most stunning feature is the indoor pool beneath a plexiglass dome that can be heated in the winter. The area is filled with comfortable lounge chairs, tropical plants, and ample tables.
SENTIDO Ixian Grand
The 211-room SENTIDO Ixian Grand is a resort located in the tourist-oriented village of Ixia, less than three miles from the town of Rhodes and steps from the beach. Rooms are upscale and contemporary, with luxe bathrooms and, in some, private glass-enclosed whirlpool tubs on the pretty balconies. The resort has three pools — the outdoor pool area has both a freshwater and saltwater pool, views of the sea, and a grassy lawn with loungers; the indoor spa is sleek and has soothing colored lights.
Atrium Prestige Thalasso Spa Resort & Villas
The 250-room Atrium Prestige Thalasso Spa Resort & Villas is a luxury oasis surrounded by water and flooded with luxe touches. Suited to couples willing to pay top dollar, the resort offers stunning sea views, direct access to a slightly pebbly beach, lagoon and infinity pools, six international restaurants, pool and beach bars, and a luxury spa with an indoor seawater pool. Built in a grand scale with native wood and stone, the hotel combines an ancient feel with a modern, palatial vibe. Guests can walk straight from the enormous crystal blue pool onto the intimate private beach, then back to the spa, for the ultimate in holiday relaxation. The outdoor swimming pool has a distinctive shape, with a bridge across its center, and comfortable lounge chairs spread about.
