There are burger joints aplenty in New York — but where do you go for really good stuff? While every New Yorker has their favorite burger spot, these three haunts around town will please even the most particular hamburger obsessive. The first two are a walk away from any West Village or Chelsea hotel. The last is ideal if you’re staying at a hotel in Gramercy or Murray Hill.

The Black Label hamburger at the recently opened Minetta Tavern has been all the rage. Made with dry-aged Pat La Frieda beef and delicious caramelized onions, it’s undoubtedly superb — but does cost a premium at $26 per pop! 113 MacDougal St.

If your budget’s a bit tighter, Corner Bistro offers the best cheap burger in town. The meat is super juicy, it comes with all sorts of yummy trimmings and, best of all, costs under $7. Plus it’s in a landmark bar that has been buzzing for seemingly ever. 331 W 4th St.

At Shake Shack, Danny Meyer’s Madison Square Park food stand, you’re likely to stand in line for your grub but the reward is worth every minute of the wait. You’ll get a burger so good and tasty that you’ll be back for more. No wonder: the meat is ground fresh and hand-formed daily! Madison Ave & East 23 St.
