Bottom Line

The 84-room Days Inn Biltmore East is a no-frills budget hotel conveniently located just off I-40, about a 10-minute drive from downtown and the Biltmore Estate. Rooms are pleasant and clean, featuring flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers. The breakfast buffet is free and includes hot and cold selections. Oyster Hotel Review

Comfort Inn Tunnel Road and I-40

Scene

Basic chain hotel that's popular with budget-conscious families and couples

There aren't many surprises at this Days Inn -- it's a reasonably modern place that fits the bill for travelers on the go, or in need of a cheap-ish home base near Asheville. Common areas are few, though the small lobby has a couple of arm chairs plus a breakfast area. It can be crowded at times, though most guests are either using the pool (when it's warm) or are out exploring the region. This hotel is geared toward budget-conscious families and couples visiting the Asheville area.

Rooms

Pleasant rooms with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers

Rooms are reasonably modern and decorated in sunny shades of yellow, orange, and red. Furniture is clean-lined two-toned wood, and beds sit in front of an orange accent wall. The red-and-yellow bed runners add even more color, along with the patterned carpets. Abstract, generic art hangs on the wall. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, coffeemakers, and safes. Bathrooms are small and basic, with tiled shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and toiletries. Sinks with granite countertops are located outside of the main bathroom area. Adjoining rooms are available, and children 18 and younger stay free with an adult.
