Achilleas Hotel

Upon entering, guests find a pleasant space with checkerboard floor
features, plum chairs, and white couches. Black-and-white photos add a touch of style, and there’s a computer on a small desk for guests to use. To reach higher floors, there’s a small elevator or a spiral staircase with a bright blue rail. The American breakfast buffet is served in a room with a coffeemakers and red booths with wooden tables that look out on the lobby.

The
hotel is located within a five-minute walk to Syntagma Square and two blocks
from the pedestrian street of Ermou, which has boutiques, cafes, and
restaurants. It’s less than a 20-minute walk to both the Parthenon and
Acropolis and less than a 10-minute walk to a bus stop where
guests can catch a ride to Athens International Airport. Metro line 3 also makes the journey to the airport in about 45 minutes, or visitors can catch a taxi there, which takes half an hour without traffic. There’s also a nearby
bus line serving Piraeus Port, the largest seaport in Greece.

The 34 rooms at Achilleas Hotel are large, with wooden floors and homey furnishings. Rooms have closets, flat-screen TVs, wooden desks, and mini-fridges. The bathrooms in some rooms have small tubs with handheld showerheads, but no curtains, which can cause the bathroom floor to get wet. Three- and four-person family rooms have additional bedrooms, although they are sparse, with nothing more than a small bed and a little wooden table. Some rooms have balconies furnished with tables and chairs and greenery in planter boxes, but metal bars give the balconies a constricted feel. Rooms facing the street can be noisy.

There
aren’t a lot of amenities at the Achilleas Hotel, as its central location is its most attractive feature. An American breakfast buffet with coffee is included in
the room price, and there is free Wi-Fi in the lobby. Parking is available for a fee
at a nearby lot that's in partnership with the hotel.
