The hotel's contemporary interiors are more attractive than the somewhat seedy neighborhood, although nearby metros offer quick downtown getaways. The lobby's faux-leather armchairs in tans and creams are accented by splashes of wall art, and indoor plants adorn the open-plan layouts. Business vibes are in part reflected by the clientele, although the hotel equally welcomes families, and toddler and Xbox play areas are great for younger guests. The rooftop pool is the biggest draw, although it isn't year-round. Panoramic city and Acropolis views from it are fantastic, and dining sets sit under trellis greenery. The space gets crowded in summer, and mornings are often busy in the breakfast room.

Bypassing Athens' beating heart also means avoiding steep prices, so a stay here has its pros. Omonia Square is a nine-minute walk, and fast food joints and cafes here offer cheap eats. Its station has trains and busses running to the Acropolis in about 20 minutes, but the square itself can feel unsafe. Also known as Larissa, Athens Railway Station is one-minute closer and rides are about the same length. Plaka, the historical neighborhood, and Monastiraki, a flea market area, are both a 30-minute walk, with the Acropolis three minutes farther. Ermou's shopping district is 20 minutes on foot. While the immediate area is unpopular, the National Archaeological Museum is worth a visit, and is a 10-minute walk. Athens International Airport is a half-hour drive, or 90 minutes by public transport.

Carpeted rooms are outfitted in streamlined grays and sand tones, with pops of red from abstract art and fabrics on blond-wood upholstering. Generic wood furnishings include desks and wardrobes, and sofa beds increase sleeping capacity. Entry-level Superior Rooms measure 258 square feet (24 square meters), and standard amenities include flat-screen satellite TVs, safes, AC, minibars, and kettles for tea- and coffee-making. Executive Rooms add Nespresso machines. 

Camel-toned drapes are around floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto small furnished balconies, though they're derelict street views here aren't great. Bathrooms in baby blues and gray marbles are classy, but they're small. They have stall showers with FairTrade toiletries, as well as hairdryers and towels. Two-bedroom Suites have a second TV, and are a family favorite. All rooms can be fitted with cribs, and ironing facilities are available from reception.

The main Nov'Agora restaurant overlooks terrace greenery, where guests can dine al fresco. Though free for kids, guests find breakfasts average, although spinach pastries and Greek olives widen the typical cooked and continental choices. Mediterranean lunches and dinners offer healthy options, plus room service is available. The indoor bar serves wines, spirits, and soft drinks. A far more atmospheric spot is the summer-only rooftop terrace, which has cushioned loungers around a small unheated pool. The adjacent bar offers more extensive seating, including some under a covering. Breathtaking vistas here encompass all of Athens, including the iconic Acropolis. 

Solid business amenities include 10 meeting rooms and free Wi-Fi throughout. The small gym has limited, albeit modern, equipment, including a ballet barre and mats. The lobby's gift shop and play area enhances the family-friendly atmosphere, and security-conscious travelers are reassured by the free private parking. Pets are welcome for a fee.
