The Radisson Blu Park Hotel Athens sits in a modern, eight-story building with a dimensional facade with concrete and crisscrossing metal-pole detailing. The hotel’s eclectic lobby is a standout with a modern, earthy vibe created in part by columns that look like thin trees and a glowing ceiling with leaf-shaped silhouettes. Art exhibitions from local painters add to the ambiance, while charmingly worn brown leather armchairs and couches gather to create relaxing sitting areas for guests (though the space does look a bit crowded). The hotel continues this “urban nature” theme throughout the common areas. For example, a stairway landing area features green grass-like carpeting and a ceiling dotted in painted butterflies. At the rooftop bar, a trellis creates a ceiling of greenery. While the common areas feature lots of standout decor, other areas feel somewhat generic or dated -- particularly the Standard Rooms -- for a property at this pearl-level. The hotel’s location, right outside of Athens' city center and near public transportation, make this a hotspot for tourists and for business travelers looking for upscale accommodations. 

The Radisson Blu Park Hotel Athens sits slightly north of the city center, a four-minute walk from the National Archaeological Museum and in walking distance to shops, eateries, and a large public park. Despite being beyond the city center, the hotel is well-connected with several bus stops in walking distance from the hotel as well as the Victoria metro stop, which is only four minutes away on foot. Some guests find the area slightly rundown, with occasional shady characters in the park, particularly at night. But, all of the cities most popular hotspots are easily accessible via public transport, and guests can find themselves at many of the city’s sights in about 20 minutes.

Rooms at this Radisson are cozy, clean, and come with plenty of amenities, but in some of the rooms, the decor feels generic and even slightly dated for a property at this pearl-level. In Standard Rooms, beige carpeting and walls meet green fabric accents and light wood furniture. Other rooms are more stylish. Suites look like chic, modern city apartments with white and black furniture, trendy accents, and even white brick accent walls. Some rooms have Nespresso coffeemakers, robes, or spacious private balconies with wicker chairs and coffee tables. The bathrooms feel opulent, with partially marbled floors and walls in black and white and shower/tub combos in most. They come stocked with Olivia by Papoutsanis individual toiletries and have hairdryers. All rooms have air-conditioning and either king or two twin beds, work desks, flat-screen satellite TVs, coffee and tea service, and minibars (lightly stocked; most just have two beers). Rooms also have laptop-sized safes, irons and ironing boards, slippers, and free Wi-Fi. Rooms either overlook the park or the Acropolis, and those higher up and facing the Acropolis have the best views.

The hotel offers several trendy dining options including the Gallo Nero Restaurant (which serves Greek cuisine), the Oak Room Cafe, the top-floor St’ Astra Restaurant (which serves Asian fusion and features picture-postcard views of the Acropolis), and the St’ Astra Blue Roof Garden, which is outside next to the rooftop pool and has spectacular views of Lycabettus Hill. The hotel offers an extensive breakfast buffet (or a grab-and-go option for those on the run), but this is not included standard with the room rate and costs extra. The hotel’s seasonal rooftop swimming pool is surrounded by lounge chairs, wicker chairs with cushions, and umbrellas. The on-site fitness area is attractive and well-lit with wood floors and a full mirrored wall. It includes cardio and weight lifting equipment in addition to free weights and yoga mats. A small sauna and steam room are also available. 

The hotel has three on-site meeting rooms, which can host anything from business events to weddings. A small but chic gift shop offers Greek-themed souvenirs and objects for the home. The hotel also has a computer and printer available for guest use. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. The hotel offers room service, currency exchange, baggage storage, and same-day laundry service, and can facilitate car rentals, airport transfers, or babysitting. On-site parking is available, but costs a daily extra fee. Late checkout is offered for no extra fee when available.
