Expect to see lots of Atlanta Brave fans at the hotel during baseball season, along with tourists and business travelers here year-round who want avoid the typically higher rates at properties downtown. The lobby's focal point is a two-sided gas fireplace framed by natural stone, and wood laminate floors and red upholstered furniture add warmth to make the space feel cozy. Country kitchen-style cupboards filled with curios complete the look and help give this quiet and comfortable hotel a homey vibe. The breakfast area in the lobby means plenty of traffic in the morning, and guests are given the chance to mingle here during the evening receptions. 

The hotel has a suburban setting near Cumberland, just off Interstate 75 that runs south into downtown Atlanta (about a 25-minute drive). SunTrust Park, the new home of baseball’s Atlanta Braves that opened in 2017, is a three-minute drive or a 20-minute walk away. Upscale shopping awaits at Cumberland Mall and Cobb Galleria Centre, both about an eight-minute drive, and numerous restaurants are just a few minutes away by car -- several can be reached on foot in less than five minutes. Dobbins Air Reserve Base and a Walmart Supercenter are seven minutes away by car, and the Cobb Performing Arts Center is a nine-minute drive. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is approximately 30 minutes by car, depending on traffic.  

The guest rooms are decorated in a pleasant style that’s typical of mid-range chain properties, though at this hotel they're on the spare side, with bland decor. Cream walls help brighten spaces, but the two-tone brown striped carpet and smallish windows make the rooms a bit dark. Beds are covered with white duvets, and matching wood furniture, which includes headboards and desks with upholstered office chairs, has a reddish finish. Clusters of contemporary art on walls add a bit of color. The biggest asset of these units is that they’re tidy, quiet, and comfortable, offering enough room for red oversize armchairs, even in the Standard Double-Queens (Standard Kings also are available). Larger, Studio and One-Bedroom Suites include sleeper sofas and wet bars. Bathrooms are average in size and decor, but they do have roomy granite vanities. The shower/tub combos are framed by faux marble acrylic. Amenities are a plus as well, with microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi as standard, but there are no in-room safes. 

The hotel offers an attractive package of amenities, including a free hot breakfast buffet with eggs, breakfast meats, and Belgian waffles. Coffee also is free all day, and the evening Manager’s Reception (Monday-Thursday) features free beer, wine, and light fare. There's also a free shuttle that takes guests within a three-mile radius of the hotel, but it doesn’t run to SunTrust Park during games and other events.For wellness, there's a heated indoor saltwater pool, surrounded by a large patio with a whirlpool, a few tables, and several loungers. The 24-hour fitness center is small, with only four pieces of cardio and weight-training equipment in a cramped space. Other amenities include a 24-hour business center with three computers and a printer, free USA Today weekday newspapers, and meeting space for up to 125 people. Valet laundry and dry cleaning services are available, and the guest laundry room has multiple washer/dryers. Parking is free on the hotel’s surface lot, and Wi-Fi is free throughout.
