Golden Nugget

Previously the Trump Marina, the property was sold to Landry's Inc, a dining and hospitality group, in 2011. After a $150 million renovation, the property reopened as the Golden Nugget. Though the tan exterior is unassuming, the interior features a sleek lobby with a brown, red, and gold color scheme; it boasts geometric carpeting, hanging lights, and shiny brown walls. Surrounding the lobby are the several restaurants, bars, and gift shops. Most guests, who tend to be couples, are playing slots or table games in the casino, or lounging at the small sixth-floor outdoor pool.  

Along with Harrah's Resort, the Golden Nugget is in Atlantic City's Marina District. The adjacent Farley State Marina is owned by the city but managed by the hotel, and has 630 floating slips. The popular Boardwalk is a 10-minute drive away, and the Atlantic City Aquarium is a six-minute drive. For those with cars, free garage parking is available. The Atlantic City International Airport is a 20-minute drive from the hotel.

Spread 727 modern guest rooms and suites are spread across two towers, Spa and Gold. Rooms have a similar masculine design scheme, with striped carpeting, dark wooden furniture, and brown bedspreads. Pops of color in red, orange, or gold, are seen in the headboards, drapes, and an accent wall. They either have a small table and two chairs or a couch and ottoman. All rooms have 42-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, work desks, in-room safes, and coffeemakers. Bathrooms are small but attractive, featuring granite countertops with basin sinks, and shower/tub combo combos; hairdryers and hotel brand toiletries are also provided. Suites have an additional living room area and come with Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Room views are either overlooking the city or the bay.

Typical of a large casino property, the Golden Nugget has plenty to keep you under one roof. For adults, the casino has both table games and slot machines, while kids can play at the arcade. The outdoor pool is small for a property this size, with padded loungers and a couple of cabanas surrounding it. Adjacent to the pool are four small hot tubs arranged a fire pit. The full-service spa and salon is sleek and couples treatment rooms are available. The fitness center is well-equipped, with cardio and strength-training machines and free weights. 

For business travelers, there are several meeting and event spaces available, as well as a business center with two computers. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. The Golden Nugget also has two entertainment venues that host a variety of acts.

There are a total of 10 restaurants and one chocolate shop at Golden Nugget. They include upscale dining at the seafood restaurant Chart House and Vic & Anthony's steakhouse. Casual dining includes the Buffet restaurant, Lillie's Asian Cuisine, and Grotto, an Italian restaurant. There's also a Starbucks, quick bites at Bean and Bread, and H2O Pool + Bar Grill. 

There are a few bars and lounges at the hotel as well. Rush Lounge has live music and Haven Nightclub is a bustling spot often with DJs performing. Wine & WiFi Internet Lounge has small plates and is open 24 hours a day.
