Scene

Massive chain luxury resort on beautiful beachfront grounds

This massive luxury resort opened in 2017 and towers majestically on a slice of prime beachfront real estate, with lovely landscaped grounds peppered with palm trees and lush greenery. With its giant casino (accessible just off of the reception desk in the lobby), luxury shops, and huge array of features, the Grand Hyatt feels like Las Vegas on the Caribbean. Luxurious, contemporary interiors are swish and elegant, with an eye-catching style and touches of island-inspired decor. Eye-catching blue floors in the lobby are paired with white hues and touches of gold; this color scheme permeates into other areas of the resort. Stylish, modern furnishings are accented by colorful abstract art (by local artists) lining the walls. Spaces are bright and airy, full of natural light and a chicly casual ambience.

Beyond the inviting interiors, there are plenty of beautiful outdoor spaces in which to relax, and outside is where guests spend most of their time. Six outdoor pools offer plenty of space, and they're all beautiful palm-skirted pools with attractive decks lined with loungers, daybeds, and cabanas. The beach is no less tempting, with a white sandy shore lined with loungers and clear turquoise water calm enough for swimming.

Clientele is almost entirely composed of tourists on beach vacations, and the property does a great job at catering both to couples and families with kids. Golfers are attracted by the course here, and there's plenty of other activities to entertain and satisfy a range of interests. It's also a popular spot for special celebrations like honeymoons and babymoons.
