Bali Court Hotel and Apartments

Scene

A spacious boutique with a laidback atmosphere and contemporary stylings

Although the hotel is located along a buzzing crowded street, inside the property there's a refreshing sense of spaciousness and calm. This relaxed atmosphere is one of the reasons the hotel has so many repeat guests, many of which consider the hotel something of a second home, often staying for two weeks or more at a time. The hotel is popular with both couples and families, and especially with retirees.

The focal point of the hotel are two spacious adjoining pools featuring lap pool and kids' pool sections. The pools are surrounded by a large tiled patio, lined with plenty of lounge chairs. The hot tropical sun can be quite bright and harsh around the pool area, as there's minimal greenery and shade. The Hot Mango Restaurant features sleek stylish interiors with black marble floors, potted tropical plants, and a long bar with a marble top and a green patterned tile facade. In addition the the seating inside there is also an alfresco dining area poolside.

Located in downtown Kuta Legian, within a 10-minute walk from the beach and downtown Seminyak

The hotel is conveniently located on Werkudara Street, a small bustling one-way road that's within walking distance of downtown Kuta Legian, Seminyak, and the beach. The street in front of the hotel is lined with a variety of restaurants, bars, and local shops. Legian Beach is a long white-sand beach, located a 10-minute walk from the hotel, the waves here break over a soft sand bottom and are well suited for novice surfers. Vendors offer board rentals and surf lessons along the beach, which tends to be a little less crowded than neighboring Kuta Beach.

Popular Seminyak eateries such as The Grain Cafe and Ryoshi Restaurant are less than a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and there are also numerous designer boutiques and handicraft stores in nearby Seminyak, within walking distance of the hotel. The Legian nightlife scene, home to Bali's wildest and largest nightclubs, including Eikon and Skygarden, is located around a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Other attractions in the area include Waterbom Park, Kuta Beach, and Discovery Shopping Mall, all located around a 25-minute drive away. The airport takes 30 minutes to reach from the hotel, though traffic can increase driving times significantly.

Rooms

Contemporary rooms or homey apartments with kitchenettes and living rooms

The property features standard hotel style rooms as well as one- and two-bedroom apartments. The apartments contain kitchenettes, dining rooms, and living room areas. Both the room and apartment interiors are contemporary and stylish, with elegant marble floors and clean white colored walls. Although Superior Rooms are more minimalist with simple modern furniture made of white melamine and more sparsely decorated walls. Apartments feel a bit more personal and homey, with hardwood teak furniture, traditional and modern paintings on display, and beautiful Indonesian ikats and other traditional textiles strewn throughout the rooms. Although all units have a similar theme, the furniture and decorations vary quite a bit between each individual room and apartment. Room amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, minibars, coffee- and tea-making facilities, roomy wardrobes, and safes. Apartments have additional amenities like sound systems, seating, and kitchenettes equipped with microwaves, toasters, full-size refrigerators, cutlery, and dishes, though they lack stovetop burners. Floor plans of the apartments are also quite spacious and there is plenty of comfy seating to relax on. The two-bedroom apartment we saw during our tour featured a large wooden dining room table with rattan chairs, a comfy upholstered couch, a work table and chair, and terrace seating overlooking a tropical garden and the pool area. Bathrooms are modern and feature marble tiles and glass showers with rainfall showerheads. The bathrooms in the apartments have similar stylings though they are roomier, more elegant, and feature large wooden vanities with porcelain sinks. All rooms types feature balconies or terraces and have large glass doors and windows that let in plenty of natural light and airflow. Ground floor rooms offer direct pool access.
