Inang Ubud Villa

This little gem is situated on beautifully maintained grounds filled with tropical plants, koi ponds, and moss-covered stone walkways. The open-air lobby isn't much of a lobby, but it's charming and quirky welcome, with a couple of chairs and a cushioned bamboo settee where guests can hang out and enjoy the gorgeous setting. There's also a massage table here and a refrigerator with cold drinks. Balinese statues stand guard. Adjacent is a thatch-roofed pavilion that serves as the dining area, though guests are prone to hanging out here as well. The atmosphere at Inang Ubud is peaceful, serene, and super-relaxing. It appeals to travelers looking to get away from the city and enjoy nature in a quiet, pastoral setting. Couples, families, and groups all make their way here. 

This hotel is situated in a serene rural setting overlooking rice fields and coconut trees, about a 10-minute drive north of the center of Ubud. Access is relatively easy, although there are a few bumpy roads along the way. There's not much else in the immediate area, but the hotel provides a shuttle into Ubud until relatively late in the evening. Guests can also go for walks through the rice fields and will find a few restaurants and yoga centers along the way. The drive to Ngurah Rai International Airport takes about an hour and 20 minutes. Denpasar's city center can be reached in just under an hour by car.  

The hotel's six rooms and suites range from a basic standard rooms up to a two-bedroom Family Suite with a kitchenette. Among the Balinese touches are mosquito netting atop wooden four-poster beds and ornately carved window frames. Color schemes are mostly neutral with brighter accents like teal and orange in some furniture and fabrics. The high ceilings help make the rooms feel large. Amenities include air-conditioning, kettles for tea and coffee, free bottled water, free Wi-Fi, and safes, though most rooms lack TVs. Sliding glass doors lead to terraces furnished with lovely teak tables and chairs. The Koi Room features a private garden with a gazebo and koi pond. Bathrooms are simple, with white tiled open showers and tubs, hairdryers, and toiletries in large eco-friendly containers. The two-bedroom Family Suite has a living area with a cushy sofa and chair in front of a flat-screen TV, plus a kitchenette with a cook top, sink, and mini-fridge. Both bedrooms in this unit have king-size beds. A three-sided balcony overlooks the pool and rice fields with tropical trees in the distance. 

Features aren't numerous here, though most guests find that there's just enough for a few days in the country. A free breakfast of fruits, breads, and coffee is served daily. Guests can opt to have it delivered to their room or dine in the pavilion set up with teak tables and chairs under a thatched roof. Dinner is served in the evening (fee), and there's an afternoon tea time with a snack.  

The outdoor pool is a beautiful space with Balinese statues and lots of lush greenery all around. Cushioned teak lounge chairs shaded by umbrellas are readymade for lazy days, and there's also a pagoda with a day bed. Fountains along one side provide soothing water sounds, and large statues overlook a koi pond. 

The hotel provides free shuttle service to the Ubud city center and gives guests a mobile phone so they can call when they are ready to be picked up. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, and parking is also free.
