Rama Residence Petitenget Hotel

The Ivory Resort Seminyak offers budget-minded travelers a contemporary spot that’s slightly on the outskirts of Seminyak, but in walking distance to the bars, shops, and beach. Built in 2006, the hotel is clean and modern, with a small street-side entrance near its parking lot. Bright pops of fuchsia, red, and yellow -- along with painted floral designs -- set off the all-white and natural wood decor in the open-air lobby, where guests are typically given a cold drink and towel at check-in. Outdoor hallways offer traditional Balinese cushioned benches and views of the tropical landscape. A pathway lined in tropical plants leads to the blue-tiled pool, with fountains and a wooden deck lined with red-cushioned lounge chairs and umbrellas. A towel stand and shower stall are by the deck. 

The hotel is located in Seminyak, a suburb of Kuta on the west coast of Bali that’s popular for its shopping, beaches, and nightlife. There are restaurants and shops in the immediate area, and more dining and nightlife options -- including Potato Head Beach Club -- are in 15 minutes' walking distance. There's also a free hotel shuttle service to the beach or city center for guests who'd prefer not to walk. Seminyak Square, a shopping and dining center, is a 20-minute walk or five-minute drive away. It’s a 10-minute drive to KU DE TA, a renowned restaurant and cocktail bar. The Nyaman Gallery is also a 10-minute drive. The Ngurah Rai International Airport is a 30-minute drive.

Rooms and villas blend modern and traditional Balinese designs. Wooden double doors lead into rooms that have rustic wood furniture, rattan headboards, white tile floors, autumnal-colored textiles, and traditional Indonesian touches. All rooms are air-conditioned, and have flat-screen TVs, safes, bathrobes and slippers, irons/ironing boards, coffee/tea facilities, minibars, microwaves, and free Wi-Fi. Each room has desk space, and a bamboo-roof terrace with daybed. Deluxe and Studio Rooms have comfy sitting areas, while the Family Room has an open-air dining room and two bedrooms. The One-Bedroom Villa has separate living and dining areas, a full kitchen, and a private pool with cabana. Modern bathrooms have hairdryers, toilet hoses, and mosaic-tile showers with rainfall showerheads; the Villa has a bathtub. 

The Warung Jimbrani restaurant serves Balinese cuisine, including for breakfast (for a fee), and has a lounge area and a bar. Limited room service is available, though some guests have noted a bit of trouble communicating with staff. Also in the open-air restaurant is a business corner with a desk and a modern PC computer. The hotel offers free shuttle service to Seminyak. Tour reservations can be arranged through the hotel, and bicycle/moped rentals are available on-site. The small spa offers various treatments for men and women, including treatments by an anti-aging specialist. It is charmingly decorated with shelves of Balinese sculpture and art pieces, and bright white and natural wood furnishings; the treatment rooms have soaking bathtubs and colorful, traditional textiles.
