After planning an entire wedding, the idea of going on a honeymoon with everything taken care of sounds pretty appealing. All-inclusive resorts, which usually include accommodations, activities, food, and alcohol, can take a lot of the hassle out of planning. If the destination happens to be a remote locale in South Asia, even better. With…
In movies and magazine spreads, Bali looks like a balmy, year-round beach lover’s paradise. And for a good portion of the year, it is. Temperatures average between 80 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the island is also located in the tropics, and from November to March, rainstorms and humidity envelop those parakeet-green forests and buttermilk-hued…
The only downside to booking a room that comes with free massages? The fact that on future hotel stays, the squirreling away of sewing kits, mini bottles of shampoo, and other in-room freebies may not bring you quite the same level of glee as it once did. Now that you’ve been primed for the risk…
The earliest meaning of the term “honeymoon” supposedly stems from an old European custom in which newlyweds would consume great quantities of mead, a brew made from fermented honey and water. At the time, many cultures followed a lunar (“moon”) calendar, and during the first lunar month after the wedding, couples were to drink mead,…
You’ve heard of white-sand and black-sand beaches, but there are also lovely pink-sand beaches spread out around the world. Though they might not be as magenta-hued as heavily filtered Instagram shots might have you believe, there’s a touch of a rosy tone found in the grains, typically thanks to pink coral and shells offshore. Here,…
The world we live in is turbulent, without a doubt, and that applies to the literal planet, too. Beneath the Earth’s crust churns a vast pool of magma, just waiting to break through the surface. Let’s face it — all-inclusive vacations really take the worries out of travel. What are the Design and Scene Like at Samabe Bali Suites & Villas?
This gorgeous tropical retreat has a private beach, top-notch service, and a comprehensive all-inclusive package.
Set on 20 acres of gorgeous tropical gardens bursting with kamboja trees and colorful flowers, the Samabe Bali draws travelers who want to get away from it all. The property comprises 81 suites and villas -- all housed in thatched structures with indoor-outdoor designs -- surrounded by lush grounds and soothing lily ponds. Interiors feature a sophisticated combination of contemporary and traditional Indonesian decor, including carved wood details, iridescent fabrics with flower designs, and clean lines throughout. The airy lobby has white walls and floors matched by delicate wooden accents and flower arrangements. Two small front desks with chairs provide personalized attention, and a wooden swing-style couch with expansive views of the grounds offers additional seating.
The property is located atop a cliff, with the gorgeous infinity pool and the grill situated closer to the beach, while the main restaurant, the lounge, and rooms reside higher up. This allows for expansive ocean views from all but four units and most common spaces. Although there are over 150 steps to get to the beach from the top of the property, golf carts are always at hand to shuttle guests between their rooms and the public areas.
Standard rates include tasty buffet breakfasts, plus comprehensive all-inclusive packages are available. These cover all food and drinks, water sports, shows, and wellness treatments.

Sophisticated suites have ocean views and wonderful bathrooms; villas add private pools.
The Samabe offers 39 suites and 42 villas, all featuring spacious balconies or terraces with patio furniture. All units are stylish and elegant, with dark wooden floors, a soft neutral color palette, and lovely traditional Indonesian details, such as heavy wooden furniture with lovely carvings and throw pillows with embroidered flower and leaf designs. Glass walls and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors let the lush outdoors in and offer stunning ocean views in all but Garden Villas. Plush window seats, spacious living areas, and furnished outdoor spaces are inviting and add to the overall serene atmosphere. Ocean Front Honeymoon Suites and Ocean Front Honeymoon Pool Suites are popular options for romancing couples, and these guests receive free gifts such as sparkling wine, cake, a bath setup with flowers and candles, and lunch under a gazebo.
Villas have an even more sophisticated style than suites, with rugs in earth tones, elegant wooden furniture with upholstery in brown and green hues, and tons of throw pillows. Many suites and all villas have private infinity pools, most with relaxing ocean views. In-room amenities include all the basics expected of a luxury hotel, such as large flat-screen TVs, DVD players, sound systems, minibars, free Wi-Fi, and coffeemakers.
