Bottom Line

Samanvaya is an upscale boutique hotel, set along the lush rice field terraces of Sidemen in eastern Bali. This tropical retreat sits in the foothills of the sacred Mount Agung Volcano and has a tranquil and serene setting that is well suited to deep relaxation. The 11 villas utilize traditional bamboo and wood construction, with elegantly appointed interiors, modern amenities, and semi-outdoor bathrooms but some don't have air-conditioning. They also offer a high level of privacy and have balcony seating areas overlooking the expansive natural scenery. Facilities include a multi-cuisine restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, an infinity swimming pool and hot tub, a yoga shala, and a full-service spa. Samanvaya is one of the premier hotels in Sidemen, but another popular choice in the area worth considering is the Surya Shanti Villa.
