The Jineng Villas

The only common space at Jineng Villas for guests to gather is in the tranquil reception area, which features an intricately carved wooden pergola and a small, open-air garden with a koi pond. Beyond the lobby, there's a long, outdoor walkway leading to villas, covered by a beautiful live bamboo archway. The quiet location adds to the peaceful atmosphere, and the hotel feels far removed from Seminyak's busy streets. 

Jineng Villas is popular with couples for the privacy that its villas afford. It's also attractive to families and groups of friends looking to spread out in spacious accommodations. 

The Jineng Villas is situated on Gang Baik Baik, a quiet road with a convenience store and an English-themed pub with weekly live music. It's about a six-minute walk to downtown Seminyak, where there's an abundance of shopping and dining options, but expect a 20-minute walk (or a seven-minute drive) to Double Six Beach, which is the closest to the hotel. It's less hectic than neighboring Kuta Beach and has a similar sand bottom that's ideal for surfing. It also has plenty of vendors selling drinks and offering surf lessons, in addition to board and beach chair rentals. There are some popular hotspots nearby, too, like trendy Cocoon Beach Club and the laid-back La Plancha Beach Bar. Legian Street, lined with some of Bali's most popular nightclubs and bars, is less than a 15-minute walk away. Waterbom Park is an 18-minute drive from the hotel, and it's about a 25-minute drive to Kuta Beach. Expect to reach Ngurah Rai International Airport in about 30 minutes by car.

Villas offer excellent privacy, with high walls surrounding them -- and have chic decor, with clean lines for an upscale look. The palette is simple and elegant: glossy, white floors nicely play off natural, textured fabrics, and honey-colored blond wood furniture.  

The poshest feature is the private plunge pool in each unit, with mod loungers and surrounding greenery. There are also fully stocked kitchens, with gas ranges, full-size refrigerators, electric kettles, and toasters, and dining tables that comfortably seat up to four people.

Serene bedrooms have gold-accented pillows and throws on beds that add a luxurious touch, and sliding glass doors that lead out to small, private gardens, and to pools. Bathrooms are roomy and have warm, tan tiling, with walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads, deep whirlpool tubs, and separate toilets. 

Spacious living areas have cushy, upholstered sofas, flat-screen TVs set on attractive media units, and wall prints that add a dash of color. Other amenities include air-conditioning, DVD players, sizable work desks with ergonomic chairs, robes, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Roomy dressing areas with large wardrobes and mirrored vanities are another highlight. 

Two-story, two-bedroom villas have similar layouts, but add significantly more space and landscaping around the pool. 

The Jineng Villas lacks standard hotel facilities -- there's no on-site restaurant, fitness center, or spa -- but there's a lobby and reception area, with benches and a few ottomans to take a seat during check-in. The property also offers free one-way shuttle service to Seminyak -- a convenience that guests love -- and bikes to borrow at no extra charge. Parking is free, with several spaces in front of the hotel, and so is Wi-Fi throughout. Also, in-rooms services for an extra fee include spa treatments, candlelit dinners, and barbecues.
