Ubud Village Hotel

Following the island's cultural heritage, Ubud Village Hotel was designed around certain feng shui elements and each area has its own individual design to ensure a positive flow of energy throughout. Guests are welcomed in the Lobby Lounge, an inviting space with dark timber floors and pillars, high ceilings, comfortable white sofa seats, freshly cut flowers, and a peacefully flowing indoor pond. The entrance is lined with palm trees, providing shade as guests walk into the hotel. Outside, the building is covered in greenery. Tropical plants hang down the sides of each floor and palm trees line the hallways.

The main pool is set in a tranquil area, with surrounding plants, sun loungers, parasols, day beds, and a small poolside spa. The second pool is located at the back of the hotel and is surrounded by plants and four floors of rooms all around -- making it quite a dark space with limited surrounding seating. Two of the restaurants are located in the front of the hotel, El Mexicano Restaurant and Maluku Restaurant, attracting many non-hotel guests. Each restaurant features a different design, but all provide a relaxing space to relax -- with the rooftop Ulu Sunset Terrace being particularly popular for it's beautiful sunset views. Overall, the atmosphere is unfussy and peaceful, attracting mostly leisure travelers.

Located on famous Monkey Street, Ubud Village Hotel has a convenient location in Ubud. It's surrounded by other hotels, restaurants, and bars and is a 10-minute walk from both Ubud Market and Ubud Palace. It's an 11-minute walk to Ubud Monkey Forest, a sanctuary housing three temples. For yoga lovers, the popular Yoga Barn is 20 minutes on foot or a six-minute drive. The hotel offers a free hourly shuttle service into town, otherwise guests can make use of the hotels bicycles. The Bali Bird Park and Bali Zoo are just over a half-hour drive. Elephant Safari Park is just under an hour by car. It's about a 90-minute drive to Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Ubud Village Hotel's 64 guest rooms are modern with simple and classic Balinese style. All room varieties feature a similar look and feel with dark timber furniture and feature walls, marble floors, cream walls, gray curtains, modern framed paintings, and crisp white linens. Amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, electric kettles, free bottled water, desks, telephones, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms include walk-in showers, separate tubs, hairdryers, and locally produced toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are provided. 

All rooms and suites feature a signature window seat with colorful patterned cushions -- some look out into the gardens. The Premiere Deluxe Room and Junior Suite both feature a large enclosed terrace with seating area and ceiling fans. 

Features here are a blend between what you'd expect to find at a resort and a boutique hotel. Four restaurants each specialize in a different cuisine: Madu Restaurant offers casual all-day dining (including free buffet breakfast); El Mexicano Restaurant serves Mexican cuisine and frozen margaritas; Maluku Restaurant serves contemporary cuisine; and Ulu Sunset Terrace serves beverages and specialty cocktails (plus free afternoon tea). The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools: the main swimming pool is surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas along with a pool bar, while the second swimming pool is more secluded at the back of the hotel and includes a shallow section for kids.

The Kama Karana Spa has three treatment rooms with a variety of relaxation and nurturing treatments available, for both couples or individual guests. There's a small fitness center with selection of cardio and weight-training equipment. There's also an on-site shop selling a variety of local crafts and beauty products. The hotel offers various activities and experiences for guests like making traditional floral offerings, yoga classes, hiking, dance lessons, local tours, cooking classes, and private dinners -- some activities are free of charge while others have an additional fee. Wi-Fi throughout the property and on-site parking (though limited) are free.
