Oyster Hotel Review

Asia Hotel Bangkok

Scene

This huge hotel is popular with tourists and business travelers alike.

Housed in a large tower, the Asia Hotel is a massive property that attracts tourists and business travelers alike, as well as a fair share of locals involved in conventions, weddings, and other special events. The lobby is enormous and features marble floors, crystal chandeliers, lots of greenery in the form of potted plants and floral arrangements, and multiple area rugs with chairs situated around coffee tables. A coffee shop is found on the ground floor and a small escalator connects the lobby with an open mezzanine area featuring additional dining options. There's also a small kiosk selling Thai souvenirs for those who don't mind paying a premium to avoid bargaining at local markets. A long check-in desk with multiple staff posts helps the hotel manage its large number of guests.

Asia Hotel Bangkok offers 600 air-conditioned rooms and suites for both smokers and non-smokers. Decor is simple, with a combination of cream-colored marble entry halls, patterned carpeting, white walls with wood accents, and an overall palette reliant on muted tones of beige and tan. All guest units come with flat-screen TVs, kettles, and electronic safes, and interconnecting rooms are available. Bathrooms are modern and strikingly luxe compared to the more simply furnished sleeping areas and include large vanities with side mirrors and lots of counter space, marble walls and floors, telephones, and shower/tub combos.
