Legacy Suites Hotel Sukhumvit by Compass Hospitality

Part hotel, part local apartment complex, the Legacy Suites Bangkok feels more like a private residence than a tourist hotel. Located on a quiet, dead-end street, the hotel is a bit of an oasis. A lovely fountain at the entrance reflects the hotel's vibe, and the lobby's wall of windows make the space feel larger than it is. Black-and-white striped floors lead to the wooden front desk, and tan couches and red leather armchairs provide comfortable seating. Free newspapers are plentiful, but Wi-Fi in the common areas is not free. The restaurant has red and yellow chairs, and floor-to-ceiling windows illuminate the room. Tan tile floors and big white light fixtures create a modern vibe. There's also an outdoor area with orange chairs and green landscaping.

Although the Legacy Suites Bangkok is in a crowded neighborhood full of high-end shops, restaurants, and bars, the hotel itself resides in a quiet pocket. The Emporium Shopping Complex, Phrom Phong BTS station, and Terminal 21 Shopping Mall are within walking distance, while Pratunam Market, the MBK Center, and Siam Square are within a 15-minute drive. Public transportation connects to most popular sights.

Although there are no great views from the rooms, they are all exceptionally quiet. Light wood floors are covered with neutral striped area rugs, while purple bed runners and green headboards provide pops of color. Abstract art hangs over the beds, and green or tan couches add extra seating. The 32-inch flat-screen TVs are built into the wall units with storage below, while two soft chairs and a wooden table provide a place to eat meals. Each room has a kitchenette, including a full-size refrigerator filled with minibar items, a microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker; some have electric stoves too. Free bottled water and newspapers are provided, along with air-conditioning, while higher-priced rooms also have washers/dryers. Neutral or funky-colored tiles adorn the sink and shower areas, and there is extra sink lighting. Tan tiles cover the walls and floors, and the black countertops provide space.  All bathrooms have separate soaking tubs and glassed-in showers, and come with bathrobes, slippers, and Legacy Suites Bangkok toiletries.

There's an outdoor pool with a sundeck, whirlpool, small children's pool, and seating built into the blue-tile area that’s surrounded by trees, shrubs, and comfortable tan lounge chairs. Drink specials are served all day. A stand-out feature is the rooftop sports field with artificial grass that can serve as a tennis court, soccer field, or basketball court. The large fitness center has a large array of cardio and equipment and weights. Chillz, one of the on-site restaurants, serves a free breakfast consisting of hot and cold items (breads, cereals, ham, eggs). It has an international menu that's served all day, while Hama-Ichi, the other on-site restaurant, offers Japanese Izakaya style items. There's a business center in the lobby, whose services come with a fee, and 24-hour concierge service. Room service has limited hours.
