Oyster Hotel Review

DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit

Location

Quiet side street near Lower Sukhumvit entertainment and Ploen Chit skytrain

On a relatively quiet street off of traffic-clogged Sukhumvit Road, the hotel's neighborhood is one of the most lively parts of Bangkok that caters to locals, tourists, and ex-pats alike. There is a wide array of restaurants and cafes in the area, from Indian to North American to Thai street food. Terminal 21 shopping mall is 15 minutes away from the hotel on foot, while Central World, one of the world’s largest malls, and upscale Siam Paragon are about 15 to 20 minutes away by
taxi depending on traffic. The area is also filled with plenty of entertainment options, from western-style pubs to the seedy go-go bars around Soi Nana. The Ploen Chit Skytrain station is a seven-minute walk from the hotel and makes trips to the trendy Sathorn area in less than 20 minutes. The historic temples around the Grand Palace are about 30 minutes away by taxi, while a cab to Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang International Airports should take 30 to 45 minutes. The Skytrain also connects to the Airport Rail Link to reach Suvarnabhumi Airport in just over one hour.
