Movenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok

Opened in 2015, this modern hotel is fresh and striking throughout. A color scheme of black, white, and gray -- accented by red -- sets a sophisticated tone in the lobby, and an interior courtyard and garden with lots of greenery soften the look. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and quiet, a respite from the chaos found nearby on Sukhumvit Road. The lobby has multiple seating areas where guests can gather, and the rooftop pool and bar are also popular hangout spots when the weather is nice. With its convenient location and nice amenities, this hotel draws both business and leisure guests, including couples, families, and groups. 

This hotel is located in the heart of one of Bangkok's business district, just off busy Sukhumvit Road. This is one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city, and there are plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping malls, nightlife, street shopping, convenience stores, and businesses along it. However, the hotel's street (Sukhumvit Soi 15) is one of the quieter in the area. The Nana Skytrain station can be reached in nine minutes on foot, and the BTS Asoke Skytrain and the MRT Sukhumvit Subway are both a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Terminal 21 shopping center is also a 10-minute walk away. Guests who prefer not to walk can use the hotel's free tuk-tuk service to reach the main road. The Grand Palace complex can be reached in about 30 minutes by car, depending on traffic. Budget at least an hour to reach either Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang Airport, as gridlock is terrible much of the day.

Spacious rooms and suites are handsomely decorated in a contemporary Thai style, with dark modern furniture, wood-effect floors, earth-tone color schemes, and jewel-tone accents on decorative pillows atop white linens. Amenities include 46-inch flat-screen TVs, universal outlets, air-conditioning, kettles for tea and coffee, safes, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Modern bathrooms are compact, but feature attractive tile in walk-in rainfall showers, updated fixtures, magnifying mirrors, and toiletries. Robes, slippers, and hairdryers are supplied. Family Rooms can accommodate three people with one king-size and one single bed. Deluxe Rooms on higher floors have separate tubs and showers, and guests in the Executive Rooms on the highest floors have access to the Executive Lounge, with free breakfast, happy hour, and other perks. Executive Suites add a separate sitting and dining area, plus a wet bar and nice city views. Executive-level guests also get free use of a smartphone during their stay. 

This hotel is well-equipped to serve both leisure and business guests. An expansive international breakfast buffet featuring more than 50 items, plus cooked-to-order options, is served in Lelawadee Restaurant. It's an airy, sophisticated space with large windows, wood floors, and black leather chairs. The restaurant also serves Thai and European cuisine for lunch and dinner. The trendy Rainforest rooftop bar also is open all day, serving drinks and light fare on cushy wicker seating with views of the city as a backdrop. There's a 24/7 bar in the lobby serving coffee, drinks, and light fare as well. 

The rooftop swimming pool is a bit on the small side, but cushioned lounge chairs and umbrellas invite poolside relaxation. The spacious fitness center features the modern cardio equipment and free weights, and floor-to-ceiling windows provide plenty of natural light plus city views. Three meeting rooms are more interesting than those found at competing area hotels, and are designed to accommodate a variety of business and social gatherings. A sophisticated black, white, and gray color scheme is used throughout, and the Garden Room features an artificial grass floor and opens to a garden. Colorful art hangs on the walls in the tall foyer. 

The hotel provides free Wi-Fi throughout the property, as well as 24/7 tuk-tuk shuttle service to Sukhumvit Road. On-site parking also is free.
