Limak Atlantis Deluxe Resort & Hotel

Set on a long, skinny property abutting a beautiful, sandy beach, the Limak Atlantis draws many European families wanting an affordable all-inclusive vacation in an area known for its high-end resorts. The hotel opened in 2002, and although it isn’t looking as fresh as it used to, new paint and a few other superficial changes are carried out every year, which keeps the property from feeling old. Plus, all rooms in the two annex buildings were fully renovated in 2016-17 and have an updated style. The lobby is perhaps the least modern of all common spaces, with plain beige tiled floors and black columns, but lime-green and purple couches with clean lines are a contemporary touch. 

The main pool deck is loud and buzzing, with booming music, pool games, animators on microphones, and kids running around. Those who prefer a quieter atmosphere can grab a lounger at the Relax Pool, which is adjacent to the annex buildings, and has no music or activities. Most outdoor areas are closed in the cooler months -- when guests here are primarily conference attendees, golfers, and sports teams -- but there is some soft animation during the day, evening shows, and an indoor pool. 

Limak Atlantis Deluxe Hotel & Resort is a favorite among travelers seeking a fun-filled, family-friendly vacation, but those wanting a cheaper option may want to compare rates at the Spice Hotel & Spa, which has a similar vibe and more upscale rooms. Voyage Belek Golf & Spa is another good family-friendly property with similar amenities, pleasant rooms, and (sometimes) lower rates. Cornelia De Luxe Resort is a more upscale option with greener grounds, a quieter atmosphere, and a more comprehensive all-inclusive package.  

The Limak Atlantis is located on a private stretch of beach and right across the street from the Gloria Golf Club. The area is quiet and serene, with dozens of self-contained resorts packed along the beach, and numerous internationally renowned golf courses. There is little within walking distance, but there are a few restaurants and shops in Belek, a five-minute drive away. Side is about a 45-minute drive from the hotel, offering impressive Hellenistic and Roman ruins and seaside cafes. Driving to Antalya and its many historic sites, including Hadrian’s Gate and the Yivliminare Mosque, takes also about 45 minutes. The hotel is a 35-minute drive from the airport. 

The hotel has 465 rooms spread over three buildings. Main Building rooms are comfortable and contemporary, if chain-like, with pale laminate floors (carpet in some), generic dark-wood furniture with clean lines, smoky-brown accent walls, and chocolate-brown bed runners with aquamarine leaf designs. Orange office chairs and armchairs add some color. Rooms in the Resort buildings were renovated in 2016-17 and have a more stylish design, with a blue and neutral palette throughout, wood paneling, and more modern lamps with silver accents and white shades. Our Main Building room was in good shape except for a broken switch, but the hotel has plans to renovate all rooms in this section in 2017-18.

All rooms are equipped with the same amenities, including air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs (hidden away in mirrors in Resort rooms), and electric kettles with free tea and coffee. Minibars come stocked with water, juice, and sodas in the winter (plus beer in the summer) and are refilled daily free of charge. Electronic safes are also provided in all rooms, but they are only free in the summer season. Each room also features a balcony with at least a couple of chairs and a clothes rack, and many offer partial or full sea views. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, but the signal was poor in our sixth-floor room, and spotty service in rooms is a common complaint. 

Bathrooms are clean and modern, with large walk-in showers, backlit mirrors, and good hairdryers. Each bathroom comes with an array of toiletries, including hair conditioner, body lotion, and shaving and dental kits. Jacuzzi Suites have bigger living areas complete with a whirlpool in the middle of the room. 

The hotel is located right on a lovely private stretch of beach that was expanded in 2016 and is now big enough to hold several rows of loungers and umbrellas. A spacious bar serves snacks and drinks throughout the day, and there is a cute playground in a shaded area. For a fee, guests can rent a cabana in a separate lawn by the beach, complete with drinks and food service, a free minibar, and a coffeemaker. There is also a great bi-level pier with plenty of loungers arranged in pairs, each with their own umbrella. Motorized and non-motorized water sports are available for an additional charge. 

There are a total of five pools here, all of which are pleasant, clean, and lined with loungers. The three main ones are large and loud, with water activities and pool games during the day, and five waterslides for adults. The Resort pools are smaller and quieter, and feature a separate kiddy area complete with a slide. The indoor pool, with huge windows and a skylight, is open year-round, but the water is only heated in the winter. There is another pool for children in the kids’ club, which also has trampolines, indoor and outdoor areas, a small amphitheater, and even a small movie theater. The club is open until after the evening show in the summer. The staffed teens’ club features video games, ping-pong tables, bean bags, books, and some group activities. 

The spa is divided into two sections -- one with a lovely hammam, sauna, and steam room that all guests can use free of charge, and another one with eight treatment rooms (including one for couples), a relaxation room with loungers, another hammam, and a sauna. 

There are several options for those looking to continue with their workout routines while on vacation, including a well-equipped fitness center with a good array of cardio and strength-training machines, two tennis courts, and a full sports complex with eight soccer fields shared with sister property Limak Arcadia Golf Resort. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, but the connection is most reliable in the lobby.

Dining options are good and varied at Limak Atlantis. The main buffet is open for breakfast, late breakfast, lunch, dinner, and overnights snacks, and offers a large spread with plenty of Turkish and international options for all three main meals. However, some guests have said that it can get boring after a few days. Additionally, there are five a la carte restaurants in the summer (only two in the winter) serving up a variety of world cuisines, from Italian, to Asian and Turkish. Dinner is always free in at least one of the restaurants, but the rest come require an extra charge. Snacks and sweets are available throughout the property during the day, and there is 24-hour room service for a fee. 

Some imported drinks are available free of charge in the summer, but only local alcohols are covered by the all-inclusive package in the winter.
