This modern hotel exudes a relaxed and outdoorsy vibe that’s in harmony with its spectacular setting. Natural stone frames the entrance, and a huge boulder towers over the cozy patio, with a fire pit surrounded by comfy chairs. The lobby, done in eye-pleasing earth tones of loden green, taupe, and chocolate brown, has wood-laminate floors, a fireplace, and attractive, contemporary furniture and wall accents. Vintage black and white photos of the area add a homey touch. This is a peaceful property that attracts families and couples, in addition to some business travelers. 

Hampton Inn & Suites Bend is set on the Deschutes River, next to the lovely Riverbend Park. The popular Old Mill District is directly across the river via a pedestrian bridge (a two-minute walk), where a great choice of restaurants, shops, and entertainment await, including a cinema complex. The Les Schwab Amphitheater, which hosts concerts and other events, is a six-minute walk, and the tasting room at the Deschutes Brewery is 10 minutes on foot. It’s a five-minute drive (north) to downtown Bend, and 22 minutes to reach Sunriver Resort. The ski slopes at Mount Bachelor are 30 minutes by car, as is Redmond Municipal Airport. The airports in Eugene and Salem are approximately two-and-a-half hours away, and Portland is a little more than a three-hour drive.

The spacious guest rooms at this Hampton Inn have tasteful, contemporary decor. Soft gold walls coordinate with the patterned, chocolate-brown carpeting, and mint green is prominent in the multi-color-striped drapes. Matching wood furniture with an espresso finish includes roomy desks with upholstered office chairs that have a hint of midcentury style, and headboards with light brown leather padding. Standard rooms have oversize armchairs and ottomans, and wall-mounted nightstands with media plug-ins. Studio-style Suites with sleeper sofas and wet bars also are available. Bathrooms are equally roomy and have excellent lighting, and they include wide, white vanities, showers with sliding glass doors, and an ample supply of Neutrogena toiletries. Units are quiet and most of them have nice views of the Deschutes River or the surrounding woods. Standard amenities include mini-fridges, microwaves, coffeemakers, 42-inch flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi.

The 24-hour fitness center is well-equipped with several cardio machines, a weight-training machine, and free weights, and there's a heated indoor pool and whirlpool housed in a light-filled space with chairs. The hotel’s meeting space can accommodate groups of up to 150 people, and the business center has two computers, a printer, and a copier. There's also a guest laundry room with two washer/dryers, and valet dry cleaning and laundry service is offered. Plenty of free parking is available on the hotel’s surface lot, and there's Wi-Fi throughout.
