Bottom Line

Just outside of downtown Bend, Wall Street Suites is an upper-mid-range boutique with a motel-style layout. The 15 suites and two rooms are beautifully decorated in a rustic-chic style with stone floors, wooden accents, and marble walk-in showers. There's a patio with a cozy fire pit, and guests can borrow cruiser bicycles free of charge. The hotel lacks an on-site restaurant, and guests are left on their own even for breakfast (though the suites do have kitchenettes). The nearby Three Sisters Inn & Suites isn't as snazzy, but offers pet-friendly units and has a free breakfast including hot waffles. Wi-Fi at Wall Street Suites is free.

Wall Street Suites

Scene

Rustic, chic boutique with motel layout

Wall Street Suites is a self-described "luxury motel," and while the beautifully decorated rooms are above and beyond what's found in most of the area's other roadside motels, it lacks the amenities of a luxury property (such as a restaurant or pool). The motel was built in the 1950s and revamped throughout 2012 and 2013. This boutique-style property looks very much like a bog-standard Pacific Northwest roadside motel from the outside, with a single level of rooms wrapped around a parking lot -- though wood accents and doors, plus large planter boxes filled with trees, definitely spruce things up. It's a good choice for tourists and business travelers alike, and units with self-catering kitchens make it an especially solid option for long-term visitors and families. The atmosphere is unfussy but surprisingly polished given the first impression made by the exterior motel layout.

Location

A short walk to downtown Bend

The Wall Street Suites is located on Wall Street, just off of Highway 97. The area is primarily a strip mall, but the much cuter, quainter downtown Bend -- full of boutique shops and restaurants -- is a 10-minute walk away. Sunriver Resort -- which offers bike trails, horseback riding, and a small shopping center -- is a 25-minute drive away, while Mount Bachelor takes half an hour to reach. The Redmond Municipal Airport also takes about 25 minutes to reach by car, and Portland is just over a three-hour drive away.

Rooms

Elegant suites with lodge-style decor and big, gorgeous bathrooms

The Wall Street offers 15 suites and two rooms, all with a modern mountain-lodge design that's accentuated by stone floors and knotty wood accents. The largest suite, the Mot Bachelor Suite, has a living room and full kitchen. At the other end of the spectrum Deluxe King Rooms have LED lighting, 50-inch flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, microwaves, and mini-fridges. All rooms come with Enso brand mattresses and allergen-free comforters as well as free Wi-Fi and air-conditioning. Bathrooms are big and have marble walk-in showers and Dani Natural toiletries. The suites resemble cool, stylish apartments and would be comfortable for longer-term stays.

There's a grassy lawn with a picnic bench off to one side of the hotel as well as an enclosed lawn for pets. All guests can borrow custom-designed cruiser bicycles free of charge.
