WorldMark Bend – Seventh Mountain Resort

WorldMark Bend - Seventh Mountain Resort is a mid-range resort hotel on the edge of a forest. The lobby is set in a lodge-style building that's typical of the region. It features exposed cedar beams and matching wood floors, plus a large stone fireplace at the center and a few cozy seating areas with sofas and comfy chairs. The grounds highlight the property's woodsy location (with hiking trails), with lots of coniferous trees and some landscaped areas with shrubs and rocks. The hotel is popular with groups and specializes in family reunions. The biggest complaint here are unwanted time-share pitches. 

Seventh Mountain is located in a quiet, wooded area, just down the road from a golf course. It's a 12-minute drive southwest from downtown Bend, where most of the city's boutiques, quaint restaurants, and popular breweries are located. It's around 10 minutes by car to the Les Schwab Ampitheater, which hosts concerts and other events, as well as to grassy Riverbend Park and the charming Old Mill District, where a great choice of restaurants, shops, and entertainment await, including a cinema complex. It’s around a half-hour drive to Sunriver Resort and about 45 minutes by car to Smith Rock, popular with rock climbers. The ski slopes at Mount Bachelor are 30 minutes or so away by car, as is Redmond Municipal Airport. The airports in Eugene and Salem are approximately two-and-a-half hours away. Portland is a little more than a three-hour drive from the hotel.

All of the units at Seventh Mountain are privately owned, and thus decor varies greatly depending on owners' personal tastes, though most have simple furnishings and compact bathrooms with shower/tub combos. Entry level Studio Suites come with one or two beds (sometimes a Murphy bed), plus kitchenettes (complete with extra appliances such as toasters) and patios or balconies. One-Bedroom Suites add DVD players and separate living rooms, and many have sofa beds -- some also have second bathrooms. However, only those labeled Deluxe have full kitchens with ovens. The other units feature kitchenettes with stoves and mini-fridges. The resort also offers Two- and Three-Bedroom Suites, some with loft-style configurations. 

Seventh Mountain Resort offers plenty of on-site amenities, from a seasonal outdoor skating rink to two heated outdoor pools and three outdoor hot tubs. There are also basketball and tennis courts, an outdoor mini-golf course, a horseshoe pitch, an oversized chessboard, and a shop selling souvenirs and snacks. The  recreation center offers rafting, horseback riding, and mountain biking adventures in the summer months. There's also a fitness center, plus a large cedar. Plenty of event space is available for meetings and family reunions. Parking is free and ample, and Wi-Fi is free and fast. One of the remote property's biggest downfalls is its lack of dining options. There's only one place to eat here: Rimrock Bar, which is only open in the evenings and serves beer and bar food.
