Bottom Line

The lovely three-pearl Hotel Nadal is perched on a hill at the east end of Levante Beach. It’s a spectacular oceanfront setting, offering a quieter ambience than the typical hotel in Benidorm’s raucous nightlife district. Still, it's only a short walk to popular restaurants and nightclubs. The 36 rooms are basic but spacious, with Mission-style furniture, marble bathrooms, and balconies overlooking the Mediterranean. A hot breakfast buffet is included in the room rates, and the lobby bar and restaurant offer beachside seating. There’s a heated indoor pool under a glass-domed ceiling with doors that open onto a sundeck but no outdoor pool, fitness facilities, or parking. Travelers looking for those facilities may prefer Hotel RH Princesa, which includes a spinning/Pilates studio and an outdoor pool with a slide.

Hotel Nadal

Scene

A quiet beachfront hotel removed from Benidorm's heady nightlife

Benidorm is famous for its raucous nightlife scene that attracts groups of revelers from the U.K. and other parts of Europe. Located outside the heady nightlife area, the Nadal is still within walking distance of it. The lobby has attractive reddish-brown polished marble tile and black-granite floors and white-stone columns. Clusters of handsome purple and light-gray sofas and armchairs are scattered throughout the spacious lobby, where banks of glass doors and windows bring cascades of light that allow the collection of tropical plants to thrive. Doors are often swung open to showcase the spectacular view from the expansive terrace perched above the beautiful beach, where guests can take meals or drinks from a cozy lobby bar. The hotel draws couples and families more than crowds of serious partiers, although some groups of friends check in here too.

Location

Perched on a hill directly over the Mediterranean, with restaurants and nightlife within walking distance

The Hotel Nadal sits on a small hill directly above a rocky beach at the east end of Avenida Madrid and Levante Beach. It’s a quieter location than many Benidorm hotels that are in the heart of the city, yet it’s only about a five-minute walk to many popular restaurants and nightclubs. A few restaurants and other hotels are right outside the door, and two fast-food restaurants are one-to-three minutes away on foot near a roundabout where a public bus stops. The heart of Levante Beach is a 12-minute walk away, and Aqualandia (water park) and Mundomar (marine animal park) are an eight-minute drive or about a 20-minute walk away. The Church of San Jaime and the Balcon del Mediterraneo are 19-minutes away by car, while Terra Mitica, an amusement park, is a 22-minute drive. It's approximately 45 minutes driving time to Alicante Airport, or about 75 minutes via public transportation. There's no on-site parking, but the nearest parking garage is about a three-minute walk away.

Rooms

Bright, pleasant rooms with spacious marble bathrooms and balconies overlooking the beach

Hotel Nadal's 36 rooms are decorated in a traditional style that’s basic but not unpleasant. Walls are white, and the matching Mission-style furniture includes headboards, dressers, writing desks, and luggage racks. Bedspreads and drapes are a sandy hue, and floors are either beige tile or grayish-wood laminate. Artwork depicting beach scenes adds a welcome splash of color behind the beds. The private balconies offer great ocean views and are large enough for a couple of chairs and a small table. Rooms are spacious, and come with single king beds or two double beds. Triples include three twin beds. Bathrooms are large, with roomy white-marble vanities and beige-and-brown marble walls. Most have walk-in showers, but some come with shower/tub combos. Toiletries are provided. All rooms come with flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Some of the furniture shows a bit of wear, and although rooms are generally quiet, some past guests have complained about noise traveling between rooms.
