Best Beach Hotels in Benidorm

This 25-room luxury boutique hotel's design allows for panoramic views of the Mediterranean from all rooms and common spaces. The cliffside hotel is located in a mostly pedestrian area located between Benidorm’s two main beaches. Right outside the property is a tiny square with several cafes and restaurants as well as a lookout point that juts out above the sea. Levante Beach is just down the street, and Poniente Beach can be reached on foot in about five minutes. There is another small beach directly adjacent to the marina, but it gets crowded easily.

The upscale Villa del Mar is located right across the promenade from Poniente, a long sandy beach that's more popular with locals than touristy Levante Beach. There are several casual cafes, bars, and shops along the promenade, and Old Town -- an area full of dining, drinking, and shopping options -- is just a block away. Its 108 rooms have cute beachy decor in white and blue hues and come with solid amenities such as flat-screen TVs and mini-fridges. Some units face the back of the hotel, but many have panoramic waterfront vistas, plus whirlpools by the windows, and hydromassage showers. 

Perched on a hill at the east end of Levante Beach, the lovely Hotel Nadal has a spectacular beachfront setting overlooking the Mediterranean. The hotel has a quieter ambience than the typical hotel in Benidorm’s raucous nightlife district, but it's only a short walk to popular restaurants and nightclubs. Nadal's doors are often swung open to showcase the spectacular view from the expansive terrace above the beautiful beach, where guests can take meals or drinks from a cozy lobby bar. The 36 rooms are basic but spacious, with Mission-style furniture, marble bathrooms, and balconies overlooking the Mediterranean. A hot breakfast buffet is included in the room rates, and the restaurant, like the lobby bar, offers beachside seating. 

The 161-room Hotel Cimbel is a family-friendly upper-middle-range property whose best asset is location directly on Levante Beach, within walking distance to the old town and nightlife. Simple, clean, and relatively modern rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and minibars, but most bathrooms are in need of renovations, and some units lack a balcony. The pool itself is on the small side, but offers panoramic sea views, a kiddy section, and an outdoor whirlpool. The restaurant serves a well-liked buffet as well as a la carte options, and on-site parking is a great perk given the hotel’s central location. 

Belying the contemporary facade of the adult-only Sol Costablanca is a well-maintained, but dated mid-range hotel. Its main strength is an excellent seafront setting, with most of the property overlooking the sandy stretch of Levante Beach. Most of the 185 rooms open to balconies with sea views, though rear-facing rooms can be disappointing and lack in-room tea- and coffee-making facilities. The pool's small size and issue with guests reserving sunbeds early in the morning is largely offset by the proximity of the beach, though the lack of spa or health facilities is certainly a shortcoming.

Located on the easternmost stretch of Benidorm's Levante Beach, Hotel Brisa is an upper-middle-range hotel offering solid value. The 70 rooms are pleasantly modern, with a bright-white color scheme accented by pops of royal blue, and many have lovely balconies overlooking the beach. Amenities include a restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating and both buffet and a la carte dining options, plus a reasonably well-equipped fitness center, a pool deck with room for sunbathing, and free hotel-wide Wi-Fi. 

Hotel Lido is a budget-friendly, 64-room hotel located on a quiet hilltop overlooking the sea at the southeastern end of Levante Beach. Rooms are basic but modern, with small flat-screen TVs and air-conditioning, and many have lovely sea views. Amenities are geared toward families and include a pool with a slide and a sectioned-off kids' area. There's also a large restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a free, if simple, breakfast. The hotel's location on a hill might present difficulties for guests with mobility issues.

Les Dunes Comodoro Hotel is an upper-middle-range property with an excellent central location overlooking Benidorn's Playa Levante and close to nightlife. The 92 contemporary rooms and suites here all have sea views, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges, and many have furnished balconies and wet bars. A quality list of features includes a decent-sized pool that's housed in an atrium during winter -- though the surrounding deck is showing lots of wear -- a modern fitness center, sauna, and two restaurants, one with outdoor seating.
