Hotel Bristol Berlin

Scene

Classic luxury hotel on famous shopping street

Kempinski Hotel Bristol has a grand, classic feel with marble floors and spiral staircases. Guests, a mix of tourists and business travelers, can sit directly on Kurfurstendamm while dining at bistro tables outside Reinhard’s and taking in the posh scene. The hotel has a long wooden bar where guests can drink cocktails and listen to live music as well as a parlor-like room with a fireplace and couches where guests can order drinks and snacks. The Kempinski Grill is an upscale restaurant on-site with an elegant dining space featuring white table linens and hanging candelabras where guests can order duck, veal, venison, and seafood. Overall the atmosphere is polished, though rooms that have not been renovated feel quite dated.

It’s across the street from a Starbucks and a block from a Hard Rock Café. It’s far from most tourist attractions, except for the Berlin Zoo, which is within walking distance. Rooms

Spacious rooms; some are modern while others contain dated decor

Rooms at Kempinski Hotel Bristol are large, but vary between modern and dated. In some rooms, crown molding and carpeting give the space a classic feel, but the wooden furnishings are dated and some guests complain of an odd smell. The Deluxe Rooms feel fresh and more modern, with a sleek work desk and contemporary furniture. Rooms have flat-screen TVs, well-stocked minibars, and limited free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are classy with pretty tile, makeup mirrors, and towel warmers. Standard Rooms have shower/tub combos, and Premium Rooms feature separate showers and tubs. Bathrobes, bottled water, and fresh fruit are nice touches, and suites with balconies are available.
