Its rooms are large and have an appealing modern minimalism with lauded views of the city. The hotel differentiates itself by its Portuguese flair and having a number of even larger apartment-style rooms with kitchenettes for long stays. Lack of adequate air-conditioning can be an issue throughout summer months, which is only partially alleviated by room windows that open to the city air. The small indoor pool is a bonus for the generally younger clientele, as is the free breakfast, served late through the day. The nearby Hotel Q! lacks the pool, but has more stylish rooms for cheaper rates.

Sleek, minimalist design and dark colors
Entering through green-tinted glass doors, the wide lobby is spare with black walls and gold decorative wall accents. Sectionals of black and white seating blocks in mod style are the only furnishings. The hotel's dark corridors with grey ceilings and walls create a moody atmosphere. Dramatic accent lighting highlights room numbers printed in giant lettering on the wall next to each guest-room door.

Other attractions within walking distance are the Berlin Zoo, Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum, and Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. SANA Berlin’s rooms are all about modern simplicity and clean, functional design. A combination of white walls and square wood panels, the spaces offer bright and warm decor with smoked glass panels that partially conceal TVs or bathrooms. Though all have heated floors and rainfall showerheads, some bathrooms are merely semi-private with only darkened glass walls separating them from the rest of the room. All rooms have a work table, mini-fridge, and minibar. A convenient in-room entertainment system has a multimedia connection/adapter for guest devices.

The Portuguese-influenced restaurant specializes in traditional seafood dishes for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served until late in the day for the party crowd and has a wide assortment of baked goods, cheese, sausages, and fruit. For full recovery from the area's heavy shopping and nightlife, the spa has all the usual massage services, plus a steam room and sauna. There's also an attached pool; though narrow, it's long, allowing for a few laps. Looking out into the pool room from a glass wall, the fitness center is cramped and narrow as well. Two bars offer on-site socializing, each with outdoor seating that includes a sidewalk spot for people watching. Several different meeting rooms are capable of seating up to 130 people, with views overlooking the city from outdoor terraces.
