Scene
Luxury 18th-century hotel in the center of Bordeaux with an elegant spa and gym
Le Grand Hotel de Bordeaux and Spa was designed by Victor Louis in 1789, the same architect who created the Grand Theatre that sits across the street. Opening in 1909, the hotel attracted dignitaries such as French writer Victor Hugo. The glass awning over the entrance, with its gold details and topiaries, adds a modern touch to the Neoclassical exterior. Red drapes, white columns, and marble floors fill the lobby. Windows surround the long, red check-in desk, with red lamps and gold logos emblazoned “GB." The hallways are covered in wallpaper made to look like draping curtains.
