The Hampton Inn & Suites Boulder - North’s stucco and stone exterior is a pretty common look among hotels in Colorado. Inside, the design is smart and modern with a cream, gray, and brown color scheme. This eco-friendly, LEED-certified hotel has a stylish lobby. On one side, there’s a sitting area of high-backed armchairs next to a stone fireplace and a wooden front desk. It shares the same space with the breakfast area which has communal wooden tables and bar stools, smaller tables with stylish chairs, and another cozy sitting area of gray armchairs. Overall, the design if far nicer than most chain hotels and has a lounge-like quality. The location and spacious rooms draw mostly business travelers, though families make up a decent portion of clientele, too.

Hampton Inn & Suites Boulder - North isn’t ideal for the tourist who wants to be in the mix of things, as the property is about a 13-minute drive from downtown Boulder. Rather, the hotel is popular with business travelers for its location near businesses like IBM (five-minute drive), Qualcomm Inc. (11-minute walk), and Spectra Logic (four-minute walk away). The location does lend itself to some dining options within a 10-minute walk from the property and there's a bus stop around the corner. It takes eight minutes by car to reach Boulder Municipal Airport.

Guest rooms have a contemporary design that features cherry wood furniture, patterned brown carpet, sienna-colored statement walls, and white beds. With plenty of space and a warm atmosphere, the rooms are usually well-liked by guests. There are coffeemakers, mini-fridges, microwaves, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, desks, and air-conditioning in all rooms. Bathrooms have tan walls and cream marble counter tops. They include free Neutrogena toiletries, hairdryers, and shower/tub combos. Some guests have commented on the nearby train which passes through and wakes them up in the early hours.

As far as leisure amenities, the hotel has a well-lit indoor swimming pool and hot tub, plus a modern gym with Precor cardio equipment and free weights. Business guests can access five fully-equipped meeting spaces and a business center. There’s also a coin-operated laundry room and a small snack shop on-site.
