Bottom Line

Located in Branson's central entertainment district, the Angel Inn is a standard motel-style hotel with 113 spacious rooms that are more updated than might be expected at a budget property. It's a solid choice for vacationers looking for a clean, affordable place to stay near some of Branson’s top attractions. Pillow-top beds, free hot and cold breakfast, and a convenient location make the hotel is a popular home base for families and groups. There's also a heated indoor pool and hot tub for those who want to spend some downtime at the hotel, but overall the hotel has a chain-like vibe and decor is bland.

Oyster Hotel Review

Angel Inn Central

Scene

Warm, homey -- and a bit homely -- this hotel is popular with families and groups.

Bright pink on the outside, with a kitsch motel sign of an angel swinging in the Missouri breeze, the Angel Inn appears a bit dated, but the rooms, at least, are more modern than expected. The lobby is laid-back and homely, with large, arched windows letting in lots of natural light and light-colored sofas providing comfortable seating areas; the overall look is very 1980s, and there's a portrait of Jesus in the lobby, indicating the hotel's popularity with church groups. The indoor pool is bright and well-maintained, with an octagonal hot tub and plenty of planters hanging from the ceiling. The hotel mostly attracts budget-minded families or road-tripping couples who enjoy features like the free breakfast and heated indoor pool. The only time the motel feels crowded is usually at breakfast, when the dated, cafeteria-like room can get busy.

A block off the 76 strip, where there are numerous theaters, restaurants, museums, and amusement parks

The Angel Inn is a block away from the 76 strip in Branson, a town known for live country music. A quaint tourist town, Branson is both residential and full of shops and restaurants. Streets are home to various eateries, bars, shops, and apartment complexes. There is a Panera Bread down the road, and popular hiking spot Lake Taneycomo is a half hour’s drive away; the Ledgestone Golf Course is a 15-minute drive away. The hotel offers free parking.

Rooms

Modest and basic, but spacious, rooms here come with pillow-top mattresses and mini-fridges.

The decor in the rooms at the Angel Inn is modest and reminiscent of most mid-range motels, with wall-to-wall carpeting, maroon or purple fabrics, wooden furniture, and dressers that double as stands for the TVs, which are either flat-screen or tube-style, depending on the room. Pillow-top mattresses are comfy, and bathrooms are large, with shower/tub combinations. Each room is spacious and has a coffeemaker, mini-fridge, and microwave. The more expensive King Jacuzzi Room category offers a new in-room jetted tub with star-shaped tiles.

Features

Indoor pool with hot tub, extensive free breakfast buffet, and free coffee all day

Angel Inn is an ideal hotel for do-it-yourself vacationers who don’t care about bells and whistles. While the motel lacks amenities such as a restaurant, business center (apart from one computer in the lobby), and gym, its lower rates reflect this difference. The heated indoor pool has a family-friendly atmosphere, and the free unlimited coffee in the lobby is a nice perk. An extensive daily buffet breakfast is free and has a wide array of both hot and cold options, including pancakes. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and there are vending machines with snacks and sodas.
